Waiting game..

So I took my nclex pn Feb 3 and I wasn't going to do the pvt trick and gave in on the 6th and got the good pop up. Im going crazy waiting feels like time is in slow motion and these last few days have been the slowest of my life.. Sadly I am in California and cannot pay for quick results. My anxiety is through the roof. Lol has anyone got the good pop up and failed or have to pay when trying the trick again at a later date?

If more than 24 hours passed between completion of your exam and doing the PVT (and you could NOT schedule an exam at that time)....it's a pass :)

When people talk about getting a 'good' pop up and actually failing, or paying $200 for a new exam and later finding out they passed, it's because they didn't follow one very simple and very basic rule where this silly thing is concerned: you MUST WAIT 24 HOURS after your test completes before even trying it. Your exam must be scored two times before results are sent to your BoN; the first scoring is immediately upon conclusion of the exam (which is why it stopped where it did) but the second score can be done anywhere from a few hours to 24 hours after that.

More than 24 hours, good pop up......you passed :D

Thanks so much. I really appreciate the information!! Puts me more at ease but still very anxious waiting for the official results in the mail and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Lol hopefully it comes soon! :)

Yep, I agree with RNsRWe. Pretty sure you passed. Congratulations! Glad I am not in a state with a wait time for results like Cali. My state board had my name and license posted the day after I took the test. (I was not even aware there was a thing such as PVT) Take a deep breath, let it out with a grin on your face and pat yourself on the back!

I understand your anxiety. I just took the NCLEX on Saturday. I'm in Florida and I got results yesterday...it was the worst 48 hours ever. My emotions were all over the place, so I can't imagine being in California. I would definitely take getting the PVT good popup as a good sign, but I understand that until you see it officially, you're gonna be on edge...I don't think there is anything that can really prepare anyone for this waiting game.

I think you're good to go...hopefully your anxiety will start to come down.

Your so lucky you didnt have to wait long. Yea I didn't think I'd be this anxious after the test. But just thinking about it taking weeks isnt fun. :/

Oh wow!!! I remember when I had to wait a week. Times have changed. I remember taking my NCLEX when they first introduced it on the computer. The rumor was they knew right away but would not tell you. You had to wait that week out and if you received a big manila folder that meant you failed, but they neglected to tell you if it is a thin manila folder that meant you have passed and your RN license was in a business envelope. A thick manila folder had all the information for retaking the test. When I saw the manila folder my heart stopped then a business envelop fell out of my mailbox and I opened it and bam, my license!!!!! It was the happiest day of my life. Major congrats to you all just hang in there you will be fine. California nurses rock!!!! :-)
