Im just trying to figure out how long the wait time for the CPNE is. I only have 3 more exams left then I can sign up for the cpne. I should be done with my exams the first part of nov. Do you think I will be able to get in this year or next year. Thanks for the info in advance!

You can get a date in as little as the next day or it can take months. It depends on the situation at the time. Make yourself open to cancellations and call them as others suggest. It also helps if you choose the NPAC area. Appointments regularly run faster there.

I applied for my CPNE on a Thursday and had my date by the following Tuesday for about 7 weeks out.
I could have gotten a sooner date if I wanted one. I leave next Thursday to drive to Syracuse, NY.

The CPNE is something that you DO NOT want to rush. The study guide is over 500 pages and there are a trillion things to know. I recommend you give yourself 3-4 months to prepare. This exam is stressfull and during my weekend, I saw people fail because they just weren't ready. You can apply once you finish and ask for a cancellation date but you need to start practicing now and I think it will be too stressful if you have other exams to study for. Good luck in whatever you decide. I just don't recommend that you rush the process.
With all that said. You probably could call and get a cancellation date but you have to be ready because they may ask you to go the following weekend or two weeks out.

Good Luck!
Thanks for the info. Im lucky to work in a great clinic where we have all the stuff I need to study for the CPNE, not only that but two of the RN's here were teachers and our local college and tought Med Surg! Heck even the Doctors I work with are helping me. I will take my time studing for the CPNE, I cannot afford to take it twice. Thanks for the advice!
