Do they have them? How do they work? I think I can finish a BSN program in the same amount of time it would take me to hold on an ADN wait list plus go through an ADN program.
Mostly looking for info for Long Beach or other LA/OC area schools. Only info could find is that it's an impacted program at CSULB.

I am only familiar with the programs at Cal State Northridge and UCLA (UCLA is reinstating their program as of this fall). Both programs only take applicants if you have your RN. Otherwise I know little about this. There is no wait list at UCLA since their program is "new" again. Info can be found on their site.

Hey!
I just finished all of my prerequisites in Fall 2005 and I am now applying to several different nursing programs. First of all, yes, you will probably be able to finish a BSN in the same amount of time you ADN program. Almost all of the ADN programs in Southern California (LA/Orange Area) have wait lists. The community college I attend has a wait list of 1 1/2 to 2 years. I am pretty sure that most of the BSN programs in the area do not have wait lists and are instead impacted majors. Impacted majors only mean that the major requires additional criteria for admission (gpa, prerequisites, etc.). I am applying to CSULB and they do not have a wait list. If you are not accepted you will to reapply the next semester. Hope this helps.

I will be graduating from nursing school for my adn in june 2007. Should I wait until then to apply? I really don't want to be put onto a waiting list. Or should I apply this fall and let them know I will be graduating and want to join their program when I'm finished with my ADN. I'm pretty clueless about this. Any help anyone could give me would be much appreciated.
You're so lucky! There are so many more ADN-BSN Programs than just BSN programs. I'm not sure what school you were looking into but Long Beach State's RN Pathway Program would have you apply by March 15 for Fall admission. Which I guess would mean that you apply by March 15, 2007 for Fall 2007. I'm pretty sure this is how most of the programs work. Good luck!
If that's all that impacted means then...ok cool! Not an issue here...will apply to LB and the local ADNs at same time.
