ICHP won't accept results from you. You will need to supply verification from Vermont. Once you have the Vermont license actually in hand, or at least a number assigned, then you just to complete the application from Florida BON for License by Endorsement. Simple as that. You will need to complete the couple of mandatory classes, as well as go thru the fingerprinting, etc.

You said that the company only offered you insurance, but can you add your family to it and just pay the difference? If not, you may want to look around for another facility or agency, as your insurance will be quite high, especially with pre-existing conditions.

I have the licence, do I photo copy and send in the post. Not the sort of thing I would like to get lost.

Can I complete the application for Florida BON (Not sure what BON means) on line if so could you give me the webb site address.

I will ask company if add on insurance is possible. If not I think I will have to try other another agency. Best to sort out the small thing before I sign on the dotted line.

They will not accept a photocopy of a license from you as proof. It has to come from the Board of Nursing that issued you the license. They need to do the verification. Remember that no verifications were accepted form you for proof of your UK license, it had to be sent by NMC, same thing for this.

BON means Board of Nursing. Do not have their address directly in front of me vut if you do a search on either Google or Yahoo and put in Florida Board of Nursing, you will be taken to their site.

And definitely get the insurance issue cleared up before you sign that contract.

I today sent a letter to Vermont (as the emails keep coming back) to ask them now to inform GCFNS details of licence to get visa screen sorted out.

Just been on Florida BON site and application is online for endorsement and it looks like you enter another webb site and pay to get varification from vermont.

With regards to finger print it says you can order pack online. Can I then go to a police station in UK?

PS to endorse licence $212 if anyone is interested. So having to pay twice in effect perhaps I should have gone with Fliorida in the begining

You need to pay to ge the verification from Vermont, for Florida. You can go that route also for the Visa Screen Certificate, if you want.

Yes, you can go to the police station where you live.

Most do not like to go with Florida for initial licensure, as they will not issue you the license until they have the SSN#.

Because I do not had SSN until I arrive in Florida on Green Card will the Florida BON issue me with licence transfered from Vermont at this time or is it best to wait until I arrive and appy for endorsement

They will not issue you a license until you submit the SSN#, but you can go ahead and get al of the paperwork out of the way. Once you get your SSN#, then you just need to sumbit it to them.

I wanted to wish you lots of luck and I hope you like Florida. I actually obtained my Fl. nursing lic approx. 9-04 and it actually wasn't all that difficult. It was more getting all this "paperwork and fulfilling what they require" what can make you dizzy.. :) I had to get a complete physical, go to police station to obtain fingerprints, contact my initial nursing board via phone and writing for verification and a little bit of odds and ends of things. I found I had to really be the "pull horse" per say in helping the process in obtaining my license to practice in FL. All in all, though looking back, it wasn't that big of a pain. :) If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to ask.

The local police station is fine for fingerprinting they may charge you £15 per set and you need two sets doing.

Can anyone give me updates regarding the requirement of Florida that you should work at least 2 yrs in the state of your initial licensure before they grant you a license..
