Hi Good day to all:

I would like to asked for your advice on what to do first on my case. My calif nclex-exam will expire on 2010 and my ielts exam will also expire on 2009. However I am planning to file a visa screen, is it ok if i will apply a visa screen eventhough i still dont have a license from california BON. Also my husband is an immigrant in the states, he plans to file a petetion for me next year, will i still file for a visa screen because i am afraid my ielts exam will expire next year. please help. thank you so much.

You don't have to be licensed to apply for visa screen, If you would read the handbook on the CGFNS web site, it's all written there.

You need to pass NCLEX or the CGFNS exam and you need a valid passing score of an accepted english test. So you qualify. They will evaluate your credentials, proccess might take several months. So I hope for you your IELTS is not expiring too soon.

The visa screen certificate is valid for 5 years.

NCLEX results do not expire, what is going to expire is your application for CA. That is entirely something else.

If you are going to be petitioned by your spouse, then you do not need the Visa Screen Certificate; that is only when you are going to be petitioned by an employer. You are going to be receiving a visa as a dependent to your husband.

Save your money, it is not needed for you to complete. But I would have a good read here on what you will need to do to maintain your NCLEX results, that is what you need to worry about.

If your husband is an immigrant and going to petition you be prepared it may still take a few years, usually quicker once they have citizenship

Thank you for your reply, however im still confused because of my IELTS that will expire june2009. Do i still need my IELTS results if I will apply for a job, even if i will be petition by my husband in which my status would be an immigrant. thank you.

Unless the hospital or BON requires English exam then with your husband being the petitioner then you do not need English. However it can still take a few years waiting if your husband hasn't obtained citizenship for you to join him and be able to work

Thank you for the information it enlightens me a bit. My husband will file for his citizenship next year, how long do you think will take for my petition if my husband is a citizen already. thank you.

Even with filing can still take some time to actually get citizenship. If your husband has citizenship then the process is a lot quicker than if he wasn't can't give an exact time as it does vary
