Red Cross comes to mind....

But Red Cross is not AHA and may not be accepted by all facilities- mine will not accept it

The American Heart Association (AHA) doesn’t “approve” classes.  Rather, they publish the guidelines for CPR & ECC.  From these guidelines other organizations can then create their own programs, an example would be the American Red Cross.  In doing so, the organization might say that it is compliant with the AHA guidelines, but none of them should be stating that their program is “AHA approved.”  While there is no requirement by Joint Commission, or any other accrediting organization, that the program utilized be an AHA course, many facilities opt to only accept AHA courses.

If you want an American Heart Association (AHA) virtual basic life support class, your only option is Heartcode BLS.  This consists of completing the didactic portion online, at your convenience.  And then scheduling a hands-on skills demonstration at an approved training center.  You can use the AHA Find a Course page to locate a training center near you.  The course completion card received after completion of this format is the same as if you attended the course in person.

Best wishes.

Actually, the AHA does have authorized AHA Training Centers. The Red Cross may follow AHA guidelines, but there are employers out there that will not accept cards issued by the Red Cross. Mine is one of them. And the Red Cross does not come up in a search of authorized training centers on the AHA site in my area.

Actually, I never said that there aren't any AHA training centers.  To the contrary, I posted the link to the course finder, and informed the OP the he or she could find a training center using it.

I also stated that while there is no requirement to use a particular program, many choose to only accept AHA courses.

I'm well aware that searching the AHA course finder will not provide any information pertaining to an American Red Cross program or training center, and am unclear as to how you concluded that I did.
