It's too cold and wet here to do any soil prep. I just started the Master Gardener training this week, and am going to the NW Flower and Garden Show in 2 weeks. My garden is still a dream. I will start seeds in March.

Do you get snow? At the end of Summer spread Peat moss throughout your garden space and in the Spring when thing warm up work it into the soil. I prefer to use a rototiller but you can work it in by hand.

Yes, we get 2 or three snowfalls each Winter, sometimes as much as a foot. And it can get to down to zero for up to a week at a time. I have a large compost that I use to add organic material, and sometimes plant a cover crop. Our garden spot is so wet in the Winter, that I wait to work it to avoid compaction.

Well after conning the husand into rototilling ther garden spot yesterday I got started onPlanting. Corn is in and 6 types of tomatoe and hope to get cuks broccoli and cauliflower in . Lettuce has been started in the green house and I pulled my bee safe out of the fridge today. I have to find the best place to anchor them.

Too cold to plant veggies yet, 32F overnight except for Spring lettuce.  Did get Tulips, Daffodils and new Hyacinth bulbs into revised raised garden beds; planted  Lenten Rose Hellebores in front house.  Hilly area @ edge  front yard Daffodils finished and Hosta raising their heads now.

Enjoy your food bounty.  Only doing Spring mix lettuce and grape tomatoes as just me eating most days as chef son full when he gets home for dinner.

Some people say that gardening is cheaper than therapy. I'm not sure about that but I do find my vegetable garden to be very therapeutic. Plus it reminds me to build mindfulness with regard to the food I grow and eat. Ihad my first vegetable garden when I was about fiv. My dad taught me how to plant and grow food and doing this annually is my way of honoring his memory.

So I got 8 Green Globe Artichoke seeds through a seed exchange and planted them indoors. Four have germinated which is a pretty good germination percentage. Will be moving them to bigger pots in the next couple of days
