UWorld percentile

Hi! So I only had the 30 day question bank. I answered all the questions and my percentages varied from low 50s to mid 70s. I just took my test Tuesday and passed. I wouldn’t let your RN assessment percentages dissuade you or discourage you. If you feel comfortable and think you understand the questions/ rationales you should keep your original test date. From my experience, all my friends who pushed their test dates back felt like it just made them more anxious and didn’t really help but that’s completely up to you.

I got borderline scores, and I took the test last Monday and passed in 75.

Do you think UWorld is a good place to review for NCLEX? I am using ati because my school requires it but thinking on getting u world. I am really anxious I feel like I am the only one from school that is not going to pass.

I took the ATi predictor without studying the first tine and got a 89% chance of passing. However I am really nervous!

Hi Grace, I highly recommend Uworld! I used ATI while in school as well but never really liked it personally. Uworld really helps you learn how to answer questions effectively in a way that I think is far superior to ATI.

Everything is garbage compared to Uworld.

although uworld seems to be the best thus far, I’ve been trying Nursing education Qbank and the questions are a bit challenging. The rationales are very informative. Has anyone heard of it ?? I found it while searching through the website, it’s nursingeducation.com check it out!!!

Hello. I would really say not to push your test date back, all my friends that scheduled theirs late get more anxious by the day. My experience with Uworld- I only bought the 30 day package with no assessment. I did around 1200 questions in a week (I know, I procrastinate) and my scores were 49-68%. I felt unprepared but forced myself to keep my test date. My test shut off at 75 questions and I found out the next day that I passed. Ton of SATA but I felt ok about them bc of how many I did with Uworld. You will never feel ‘ready’ you just have to believe in yourself!

Decided to keep my test date for Monday! Wish me luck, the nerves are kicking in lol

Sitting at 60% average on UWorld in the 76% percentile on Q-Bank. Scored mid-70%s in the mid 90% percentiles on the self assessment test. Also used Kaplan through my school, they had CAT testing that mimicked the NCLEX, got it to shut off with a passing score at 75. Feeling confident enough to test this Wednesday.

I would like to know what are your thoughts. I’m a nursing student and I graduate May 2020. I purchased Uworld, and starting practicing the questions. Am I being a bit dramatic? Is this too much time to be going over for the nclex?

I figured its better than not doing anything. I do it when I’m free with the Uworld app, I sit in bed with the wife and just go over questions. Also using the Saunders to reviews. Thoughts?

I just took the NCLEX on 6/25 and passed! I exclusively used UWORLD to study. With that being said...I think you are using it too soon. You have not learned a lot of the content that is in UWORLD yet and you would benefit much more from it if you were to use it to study for the NCLEX closer to taking it. NCLEX is a national exam. You will not learn everything in nursing school and learning to answer questions..even when you do not know the material...is paramount to passing the NCLEX.

There are plenty of great question apps you could be using in the mean time to study content.

We had a three day workshop from Kaplan on strategies on how to analyze questions and answer them if you don't know the material; the strategy is broken down into a couple of steps:

1. What is the question actually asking? Understanding if they're looking for the best answer, or an incorrect answer (ie "...indicates further teaching is necessary"

2. Which of the answers are interventions? Which of the answers are assessments? Do you have enough information from the question to intervene now or do you need further assessments?

3. Are any of the answers related to airway, breathing or circulation? Prioritize by ABCs.

4. Are the interventions psychosocial or physical? Prioritize physical interventions over psychosocial interventions.

5. Analyze the outcomes of each of the answer and prioritize which answer you would do if you could "only do one thing and then leave."

They also covered a lot of common NCLEX question traps, like never leaving the patient, always go up the chain of command, never ask why, etc...

So far, it's working better than just guessing on content I'm unsure of in the practice tests I'm taking, but I suppose we'll see how well it works after I test on Wednesday.
