Hey! I am waiting on a reply too. The lady in admissions said we should hear by the middle of Sept. I am wondering what the range of GPA and TEAS scores they normally accept?? What other programs did anyone apply to?

When I called last week she said they are starting to send out emails this week. She also told me a while back that between a 75-80 on the teas is considered competitive. The gpa will vary according to all their applicants. They have not reviewed all applications yet, so I would assume they don't have a competitive score for the gpa yet.

For all of you who applied, I'd go check your email. I got an email about an hour ago mentioning that I've been selected for an interview and that I'll hear back in 2-3 weeks regarding the specific date of the interview.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you don't hear anything this week, it doesn't necessarily mean you didn't get an interview. I called UTMB on Friday and was told that only a partial amount of applications have been reviewed. Therefore, only a some people will be hearing something this week. Interview requests will be sent out throughout the next few weeks as more applications are reviewed, so don't worry if you didn't receive an email just yet.

The link for the security background check is broken so I wrote an email informing them of the problem...

Kelly2010, that is very helpful - thank you for posting! I have heard that some of the clinicals actually happen in Houston - is there any truth to that?

There are clinicals everywhere- UTMB, Ben Taub, South East Memorial, Memorial Herman in the med center, TDCJ in Galveston, M D Anderson, Methodist Main, Methodist-Sugarland, and St. Lukes.

If you live on the island, they try to place you on the island, but only ten people can go to each clinical location, so a lot of people who moved to Galveston got placed in clinicals on the mainland.

Oh and for those of you wondering about the background check... I would wait until you get your acceptance letter to actually do it. I know yall's email probably said to do it ASAP, but you don't need to do it until you actually get in. I would save the money until you know for sure.

Aggie2005: congrats on recieving an interview invitation. Just wanted to know did your ecconct change from pending to something else? I am still waiting on my interview invitation; I know of two people who got rejection letters today.

I got an e-mail saying that they would send me another e-mail for an interview in the next 2-3 weeks. Very promising..anyone else?

Both my friend and I got emails stating we are invited for interviews and will receive date and time info in 2-3 weeks. We're so excited!

Hey, my Econnect still says pending. My wife actually graduated from UTMB a couple years ago and she said that even after getting her acceptance letter, it took weeks for her Econnect status to be updated. Therefore, I wouldn't rely on Econnect for the status of your application. You'll most likely hear from UTMB long before it is updated.

Just to remind you, the person I spoke with at UTMB did say if you don't receive word either way this week to not stress. They are going to be reviewing apps and sending out responses throughout the rest of the month. Though I am slightly relieved to already get word, I had already told myself to give it a few weeks before I started to stress.
