UTMB Fall 2008

Hi everyone,

I applied to UTMB for the Bacc-2 and didn't make the cut. Now I'm waiting to hear back for the regular BSN program. My application has been complete at UTMB since September.

Anyone else apply to UTMB?

Does anyone know when we might hear something?? I know it is still very early.

thanks

I have not heard anything and my status still says pending. Hearsay is that they have already contacted people for interviews, but I'm not sure.

I keep checking my status, everyday, hoping I get some news...and finally I got the email Friday, May 2nd. I will have an interview May 9th.

Good luck to you all..

So....any new or recent updates from UTMB?

I was told "letters" would be sent out by the end of this week... :stone

End of this week? that's good..keep crossing your fingers all..

Was just reading your post about an interview you had on May 9th at UTMB. I know its been awhile since then but how did your interview go and did you get accepted? I'v applied for the summer 2009 program so I'm I'll have a long wait.

How long after your interview did it take to hear something?

Hello everyone I know this thread is a little old but I have a few questions for anyone who go in or went through the application process. I'm appyling for summer 2009 and wanted to know the GPA was competitive enough for a acceptance letter. I hope I'm not throwing my $50 away!!!

I haven't met one person yet (on and offline) who applied who got in to UTMB for this Fall so, I'd be interested on hearing who actually will be starting UTMB in the Fall and what kind of stats they have.

Just curious.

I've applied for the Summer 2009 program. I'm suppose to take Pathophysiology starting next week, which is my last pre-req. requirement. I presently have a 3.7 pre-req. GPA and 4.0 science GPA. I understand that they go by so many other things not just the GPA. It's going to be a long wait because the deadline was extended to October 15th. I was told that applicant's wouldn't probably know they've been accepted into the summer program until around beginnng of January, 2009. So I'm working on having patients.

How about you?

Deb those GPAs and such will give you a good chance at getting an interview... be sure you sweeten your application/interview by having volunteer experience (preferably healthcare) but any type is better than nothing... it shows that you have a willing spirit... also be sure if and when you get an interview to be EXCITED about being a student and about UTMB... they look for that stuff in the interview...

Good luck to you all when applying to UTMB!!!

Hey Jess,

Its Debra. I changed by name from StoryofEster. Not sure I like this one either. Must be the mood.

How's nursing school going? I haven't had a chance to thank you for spending time with us at the open house. Very informative. It made me feel really good that they had an older person in the program speak to us as well. So I know there's hope that regardless of your age, it can happen.

I want to volunteer but the problem is time. I work full time and I'm trying to finish up my pre-reqs on top of being present in the home a few nights a week so my teenage son doesn't think he can run free all week. Next week I start Pathophisology so again no time in the evenings. I'm hoping by Spring 2009 when I'm all done taking classes I can start to volunteer at a hospitals to work 12-20 hrs a week. Do you think they will hold that against me too much if I don't have any healthcare experience?
