UTHSC-Houston Fall 2012 Applicants

Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:

Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75

Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0

Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.

My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -

Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30

Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! :crying2: )

Overall Gpa: 3.28

Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.

My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.

Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!

Just want to clarify I was saying "me too" that I wanted to hear something today! My account has not updated!

Congratulations to those with green check marks! Wahoo! I'm so excited for you guys!

Post first letters of last names please, so we can get an idea of maybe where they're at.

I'm admitted! I can not even explain how I'm feeling right now!! I was so nervous all weekend thinking I would't get in! This is so exciting! Now I can't wait to find out if it is for the traditional track or pacesetter track!!! Congrats to everyone else that has been accepted and best of luck to those waiting. And, my last name starts with an "R."

When and how do you find out if youre accepted into either program???

And congrats on getting in!!:yeah:

Gsus,

I'm assuming they will let us know in the official letters. I didn't see anything on My UTH indicating the track I was accepted into. I am really hoping I will be admitted into the Pacesetter program, but I will definitely be happy with either!!

I thinks it's wierd that you don't get to choose between traditional or pacesetter. Many prefer one over the other but you dont get to decide; you don't really set your own pace, they do it for you.

I'm in!!!! I am so excited! I really didn't expect to see a change when I opened MYUTh. My last name begins with a "W"...:)

My last name begins with J. But I don't know what kind of order they are going in, it also may be by student id# or who knows what. I remember on Friday someone else with a J reported admittance on here and mine didn't post until this morning.

So the school chooses if we are in Traditional or Pacesetter?

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted. Just for reassurance, everyone who has accepted admission on MyUTH has had their green check mark replaced by yellow triangle, correct? I'm assuming this is due to our not yet completion of the To Do List items.

Unfortunately, yes. They choose our program for us.

Well, I guess that's it for me. My last name begins with 'O'. My stats:

Pre-reqs: 3.6

Science: 3.7

HESI: 94%

CT: 930

Undergraduate GPA: 3.4

BS degree from Texas A&M

My 'holds' changed last week. Looks like that didn't mean anything. Congratulations to all of you who were accepted.

So the school chooses if we are in Traditional or Pacesetter?

My understanding is that the school selects approximately 50 students for the Pacesetters Program and 100 students for Traditional Program. I have also been told that you have to have a previous degree to be admitted into the Pacesetter Program.
