What are y'alls stat and what department do y'all work in? I work in the PICU and side note your initials are the same as mine :)

We all work in surgery. I'm not sure of the others stats but mine are: 3.75 science 3.3 overall with 2 considerations, I finished patho and pharm with A's so my overall will go up for spring if I don't get a seat in fall

Hi Don, while you are answering questions would you mind telling us how hard the classes are? I mean, is it a lot of busy work or is the material genuinely difficult, like A&P or Patho? Thanks for being such a team player :)

To be honest, the classes are alot of work. It is spend a lot of time reading, watching lectures, completing online modules, etc. It is extremely time intensive, and part of the reason they do not recommend working at the same time. The assignments are definitely NOT busy work... I can say with confidence that this program is not for everyone... and you're welcome, btw.

Did you say that your test are at a testing center? is this for all classes? Also, what do you feel is the difference between online and in-seat (besides that its online lol) ... do you think its time intensive because instead of sitting and having a teacher teach you, you have to do it yourself so you spend time listening to lectures, teaching yourself, and then studying.

Don, when you say that you attend a testing center to take tests... which tests are you referring to? Are they based on the clinical component or online course work? Are your tests scheduled weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc.? Thanks!

To answer the questions regarding the testing, I must state that I am not close to my clinical hospital (or Arlington for that matter). I live in Temple and all testing is proctored. For most people, they will take their proctored tests at their clinical location. If you live in the DFW area, that isn't a big deal. Because I live so far away, I take my proctored tests at a college testing center that is local to me, but I must pay the testing fee out of pocket. That is better than paying for gas to drive all the way to my clinical hospital that is 2 hours away. It works for me. There are a few tests that I cannot take at a remote testing locations, e.g. HESI final. In that instance I am required to drive to the designated location, usually the clinical hospital. As far as the frequency, it has been almost every week for the majority of the 14 weeks. I can't get into any more specifics regarding testing days and what is being tested because this info is specific to my cohort and I do not know anyone in any other cohorts, so I don't know if they are the same for them. Likely they are, but I don't want anyone to be mad at me if their cohort's testing day turns out to be a different weekday...

I can hear it now... "but Don said it was Wednesdays..." lol.

Hey all! I just stumbled across this site, a bit late I know... this is my first semester applying at UTA for the nursing program...and I got waitlisted...boo. Seems like I am in good company and many of us will be waiting together :) has anyone been waitlisted before? I am just lost with how they rank and such - as it seems many others are. Guess we will hope for the best! Good luck to everyone!
