UTA Fall 2013

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

I just took the first two quizzes and was surprised to find I only had 10 questions to answer in 45 minutes. I found the first two easy, with a couple of tricky questions. I was easily able to verify my answers thank goodness!!! I am about to take the 3rd quiz. I know as I get into unfamiliar territory, in the next 2 chapters (tissues and integumentary) it will be more of a challenge.

Thanks for the info Violach!!!

Has anybody heard anything about THR no longer being partnered??? UTA would only say that THR made some changes! This changes everything and I may have I look into additional schools. Ugh......

They probably just switched around which THR hospital they considered as partnered. I'm pretty sure last year there were only 3 or 4 THR hospitals considered out of all the locations. I know THR Cleburne didn't make the list and that's where I was at last year. They should provide the list for you like they did last year. I don't understand why they would hold the information from you. You might want to try contacting someone else in the department.

Emailed THR. I was told by UTA that THR applicants are no longer considered partnered when they apply. Not that my hospital was not partnered... THR as a whole is not partnered! Big change and I am not the only one freaking out here. Not being partnered makes a huge difference :(

This seems to only be an issue for those who have NoT already applied!!!

That's insane. THR is trying to get magnet status so you would think they would want clinicals done at their faculty from a BSN program like UTA so they can recruit newly graduated BSN nurses. I wonder if that was a THR decision or UTA's.

Not sure! All I know is without the partnership I am not likely to get in! I would need to retake tons of classes. My GPA is 3.5 with a 3.75 in sciences. This upsets me cause it is one do the reasons I chose UTA! Weekend clinicals fit my life perfectly! I am so upset :(

There was someone else who posted something about this under a separate topic. she stated that THR was only going to be for students with prior degrees. I'm not sure how accurate that it. I would like for it to start for this fall but if I was employed there I would be a little upset by the change.

I am really upset about it. Any idea the topic name. I would love to read more! Ugh....

I wonder if this applies to students who applied to the CON before THR became 'unpartnered?'

I am not sure. I am taking Prereqs still. This is a punch in the gut indeed. I have a decent GPA, 3.5 and science GPA of 3.75. But in partnered.... Not even sort of competitive! I need more info on the change but can't find it!
