UTA Fall 2020 applicants

Hi, I applied to UTA for their fall 2020 BSN program. I was wondering who else applied and what the average GPA was.

I applied. It’s not based on your GPA. It’s based on your ranking.

Ranking is determined on a point system which is infleunced by your GPA. It is determined by your overall GPA and natural science GPA plus any considerations. Come check out this forum where people have stated their stat's. ?

Ranking system is based partially on your GPA also on considerations if you have any

My current science GPA is 3.2 and my full prerequisite is 3.3, giving me a total of 6.5 points. I doubt I will be accepted considering the average points of people admitted is 7.5. However, I am still going to try!

Are you currently a student at UTA? If you are and you have 30 credit hours of course is there as well as 12 credit hours of science you get additional consideration points

From what I was told 7.0 is considered competitive. 7.5 is considered very competitive, but it depends on the semester and how many people are applying and which program etc. etc. just keep applying and don’t give up

No I do not currently attend UTA. I go to TCC, I have apps in a UTA, TWU and I'll be putting one in at a TCC as well. Going straight for a BSN is my preference however if TCC accepts me and UTA & TWU deny me, I'll just go ADN then bridge to BSN. I am retaking Chemistry and APII to bring my B's to A's.

I think that’s a good plan. If you were currently a student at UTA, I would say don’t retake the class because it won’t make that much of a difference but since you’re not it’s a good plan good luck to youI think that’s a good plan. Also, are you planning on doing the accelerated online program or the campus program?

@Brian Davis

On campus. I've been accepted to UTA so I had to attend orientation for nursing. In order to be eligible for the accelerated online you must have all prerequisites completed, including pharmacology, pathophysiology and the intro to nursing skills I believe.

I was originally doing the accelerated online and then I switches to on campus.

I have been put on the wait list for the fall program! I pray I am not far down the wait list!

Hi, I also am an applicant for upcoming Fall 2020 .

Overall GPA : about 3.6

Science GPA: about 3.3

so I'm guessing about a 6.9 total ? Got these all from DCCCD.

I already applied, and got Waitlisted. I don't want to waste time re-taking pre-reqs . I would like OTHER current UTA Nursing students if they had a GPA similar to mine, if they got in the same year/ how long they waited. or what they did to get accepted the Second time around. Based on previous chats from 2019 , I see that being "partnered" gave priority to those, or those who took their classes at UTA. I was working at Parkland until August 2019 … so that I can fully focus on my grades. Working plus trying to get grades high is so. dang . Hard. But overworking ourselves is a plus for nursing schools apparantly... Why is getting into nursing school so hard LOL. Please give me any feedback on this thank you !
