UTA AP BSN program Fall 17

So I'm trying to see anyone is going to apply for UTA's AP BSN program the fall of 2017. I have been following threads and trying to get some information about how this program is set up. I did my application to the school last year for the Fall of this year. I'm trying to knock out my science classes, but I have withdrawal from my biology class 4 times and Im wanting to take my chemistry over the summer. Possibly doing my other 2 sciences with UTA. I haven't taken the Hesi A2, I plan to take that around the Fall. So, I just like us to update with each other and encourage each other to get into the program. I would do my stats, but I haven't taken gotten them yet. As soon as Im finished, I will post them. Everyone is free to post theirs

Just curious. If I've already been fingerprinted by the Tx State Board of Pharmacy, would I need to be refingerprinted?

I can't say for sure, but I think you will need to do another set specifically for the BON. This was the case when I was fingerprinted last year.

Brandon is correct. The BON requires their own report. However, once receive a "blue card" from the BON it's good for any nursing school in the state.

Do we need to send the blue card anywhere?

Thanks so much for the info Pappa and Brandon! I haven't even gotten an email for fingerprinting so I guess I shouldn't even worry about it yet

No, the schools automatically get a report from the BON off of their Student Roster. You need to keep it for your documentation though. I believe once upon a time it may have been submitted with the old applications for NCLEX before the process changed.

Ok, I took intro last summer does that mean anything? I guess I should still do it regardless of the outcome.

Ok, I received an email from UTA nursing department to schedule my fingerprinting and background checks. I am on waitlist, did anyone else receive such email.

@ijustwanttobegreat you cannot schedule fingerprinting until you receive notification. It's a process the BON has to first enter your name in the roster and then you can sign up. When I received my notice for fingerprints it took an extra week to add my name before I could register for them! Also, they changed the process in the fall, but it was the spring Intro students who were requested to fingerprint early.

Hello Friends, did anyone get called off waitlist yet, just curious.

Hello,

I was waitlisted but I received a blue card in the mail. I didn't do anything to get it but I am currently an LVN. Since I got a blue card does it mean anything? Do I need to let the program know I received it?

I got one too, it just means they submitted our names to the BON. We may be notified soon that we are alternates.

i hope that we are called as alternates
