USF Fall 2012

I was looking through the site and realized there was no place for USF Fall '12 applicants. Just wanted to know who was applying and for what program?

Good luck to everyone!

Well hopefully that's a good sign for both of you!!

Samiam856 do you mind telling me what the e-mail said that you received today?

I just got my denial email . Im changing my major to mass communications, I'm sick of being judged by my GPA. The tutor who reviewed my essay said it was one of the best USF nursing entrance essays she's ever read. I was the commencement speaker at my community college, I volunteered, and I wrote a very passionate essay. The nursing field obviously doesn't think Im good enough , so I'll go somewhere I'm actually appreciated .

Affinity, I'm sorry you didn't get in, but don't give up. Why don't you apply to FGCU? It is a bit less competitive and tuition is still really cheap. If this is your passion then either reapply or apply somewhere else. I switched from nursing to psychology because I was discouraged with the chemistry and then ended up switching back. I wasted a year and a half doing courses for a degree I will probably never use. If this is truly what you want and you settle for something else, you may regret it.

Dot give up!! I got 7 denial letters before I got one acceptance. I applied over the summer, or the fall, and for spring. If its what you want then go for it! There are just all of applicants for few spots.

The email states the admission status changed to denied.

Taytay and Samiam, Thank you so much for your advice! To be honest, I love helping people, and nursing is something that I wanted at one point. I switched my major from nursing to English because I loved to write, and my parents persuaded me to switch back to nursing because of the stable job outlook. There are many reasons that I wanted nursing, but it's time for me to let go . Perhaps this isn't my calling, and there's something better out there for me in the field I'm more talented in, and where GPA isn't a deciding factor . As much as it hurt to work this hard and get denied, is as much as a reason to put all of my effort into something else that I'm actually good at. Good luck to the rest of you!

@afffinity I too feel I won't get in based off some post but girl you still have a good chance of getting in based on ur passion nd academic achievements .....don't give up on bad days remember!

Affinity, please don't give up on nursing if its something you really want to do. I have my CNA license and I applied to four nursing schools and didn't get in yet and this is my last school I'm waiting to hear back from. If i don't get in I'm going to work as a CNA and reapply again or perhaps do a LPN program and work my way up, if nursing is your passion like mine is then you should never let a denial letter stand in your way. Also, my gpa isnt as high as yours overall so if I'm not giving up you shouldn't either.

Still haven't heard from USF..... What about any of you?

Did any of you guys find out about your statuses?

No, I didn't receive any update on my status yet.
