USF Fall 2012

I was looking through the site and realized there was no place for USF Fall '12 applicants. Just wanted to know who was applying and for what program?

Good luck to everyone!

I'm re-posting this because it seems that allnurses lost posts from the last 21 hours.

taytay05- I think that you will be competitive, especially if your writing sample was good.

Here's the break down.

You get points for three things

30% of pts Pre-req GPA

30% of pts Overall GPA

40% of pts writing sample

Obviously, the people with the most points get into the program.

Then, here's how being notified has worked so far. After applying, your status on SOAR should show "Applied". Next, your application and transcripts are reviewed to ensure that you meet all requirements for GPA and pre-reqs. If you are OK there, then your status is updated to "Committee". Each time there is a change in status, you will be sent an email to the email address listed on your application to update you of the change. You can also check your status on SOAR. My application currently is in "Committee" so hopefully if yours hasn't changed yet, it will change soon.

And, yes, everyone I have talked to has said that they heard that they made it in about 2 weeks after the deadline.

PalmHarborMom, which program did you apply to? Second degree or upper division?

gator88- I applied to the Upper Division program. So far USF has been OUTSTANDING!!

Hope fully they will get to your application soon.

@PalmHarborMom thanks for the reply I spoke with the admission department and was told that they look at first attempt grades as well....when did you apply I think the criteria has changed a bit????

19nariKa- I forgot to mention that for Upper Division BSN students that pre-req course GPA is based on your first attempt. I'm not sure if the Second Degree Sequence is the same or not.

I applied a few days before the deadline for the Upper Division program. The requirements have not changed. I know they have been the same for at least 2 years. If you want to be sure what your Pre-req and Overall GPA are, go to the USF website and log in, go to OASIS, then student, and look under Degreeworks. It will show all of the classes you have completed, grades and both GPA's.

Hey I just wanted to know if anyone who is applying to the second degree received a change on their status.

Hey I just wanted to know if anyone who is applying to the second degree received a change on their status.

I applied to both and they both still say "applied".....

Ok. Thanks I just wanted to make sure I wasn't alone.

Second degree still says "applied" for me as well. Upper division says "committee."

Alright well I wonder when we will find out for the second degree.

Mine also still says "applied" for the second degree sequence....

OK, the waiting is justing too much. I looked at the posts for Fall 2011 and they started posting whether they were accepted on July 7th.... So hopefully we do not have too much longer to wait! If they are just as quick this year, it should be next week!

Just thought I would share!
