UNC ABSN Summer 2010

I'm applying for the regular BSN program, and heard that decisions should start coming out mid-March

I applied to the ABSN summer 2010 program and I still haven't heard anything. In one of the blogs I was reading someone from the admissions office said nursing transfer applicants for the summer program would hear in "early" March. I thought early March would have been last week and this week. Hopefully we'll hear something soon!

I called last week and they said decisions would come out last week of March or first week or April. so looks like more waiting...

Doesn't give us much time to get things together if school starts in May.... Hopefully we hear something next week.

I talked to admissions today and they said letters could be mailed out the week of the 22 or 29. Does anyone know any stats...how many applicants vs. how many accepted?

Yeah, that doesn't sound like enough time to have a wait list either.

I was just on UNC portal and had asked about notifications and got pretty much the same answer, except this time "Julie" from admissions said we'd have a decision no later than mid-April. She also said it takes 12 weeks from the application deadline....but doesn't that put us at March 22 for decisions to be made? I really hope it's not around mid-April. I'm out of state and definitely going to need more that 3 weeks to find a place to live if I get in.

Me too. UNC is my first choice but I got into other schools that I don't want to turn down just incase!

That's my situation too. I've got to register for classes at my 2nd choice school by April 5th. I HOPE we hear from UNC before that. I mean I've already had to pay the fee to hold my seat just so I'll have a back up in case UNC doesn't happen. I'm not too happy about all this waiting and I'm sure everyone probably feels the same about that.

I am also applying for the regular BSN. I applied last cycle and was waitlisted. After reading some of the previous discussions on other threads I went ahead and scheduled time with the Dean of Admissions. She discussed my application with me and was quite helpful.

I also spoke to the admissions office and was told that letters would be sent out by the end of March. Last cycle it was extremely agonizing because of the new application system and letters came out late. I am hoping that it won't be the case this time around. Those of us moving to the area will be hard pressed to find somewhere to live very quickly!
