Aug 3, 20205 yr Hi y'all, I thought I would start a thread for those who are applying to the ABSN nursing program for next Summer! Good luck to everyone applying!! :)
Oct 13, 20205 yr I also got in! I was surprised to hear this early and did not think they would send admission notices over email. Congrats to everyone else, also!
Oct 13, 20205 yr Congratulations to everyone who was accepted- I was offered a spot on the waitlist so now we wait I guess! For those who were accepted, what date do you have to accept/decline your offer by? Just really dreading all of this waiting again but trusting that it all is going to work out.

I am also in the same boat. Thank you for asking this question.
Oct 13, 20205 yr Congratulations to all accepted! I was accepted as well. The letter stated that we should convey a decision by Oct 22 if we didn't want to 'jeopardize the offer' but final decisions are due Nov 2. I hope this helps!

If anyone else is familiar with other ABSN programs in NC I'd love to hear about them! UNC was the only school I applied to and I am pretty lost now. I'm sorry you were not accepted. Here is a list of other schools I considered. I believe Western Carolina is highly rated. -NCA&T - Greensboro -Winston-Salem University -ECU - Greenville -Western Carolina University - Cullowhee I wish you the very best of luck on your journey.
Oct 14, 20205 yr Congrats to everyone accepted! I was also waitlisted. Has anyone been waitlisted before in the past? Also, from the ones who were accepted are you out of state or in state? And did you have much patient experience?
Oct 15, 20205 yr I'm out of state and was accepted. I've been working at a hospital for the last 3 years so I have patient experience.

Oct 15, 20205 yr I am in state and have 3 yrs part-time experience in undergrad clinical research and 1.5 yrs post-grad experience in clinical research. I also worked PRN as a CNA for a Summer
Oct 15, 20205 yr Out of state, no direct patient care, but have worked in public health and my school's health sciences department. Good luck to all of us out of state students and our out of state tuition....ha ha ?

Oct 15, 20205 yr Congratulations to everyone accepted, and for those who didn't get in or got waitlisted, I am sorry but please know that this is not the end. Take it as an opportunity to gain experience, travel, or do a project you are really passionate about. I am asking about what people are doing for housing for those who got accepted. I am kind of nervous because housing near UNC is really expensive and I also don't want to go too far from campus.
