Jun 17, 201411 yr Another day, another empty P.O. box. Every day I am telling myself as I walk into the post office 'it's going to be there, you know it is. It's finally here, today is the day!'. And then on my way out of the post office 'I told you it wouldn't be there today'. My pessimistic side seems to be winning today . Oh well. In the words of the great man himself "Today is gone. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one." (Thanks Dr. Seuss!).

Jun 18, 201411 yr aleyRN , congrats on getting accepted! I too had to make the difficult decision between schools last year. Clearly, I chose UF and so far, I couldn't be more pleased. Saying that, I don't believe there is any program out there that is perfect. UF does have its faults and problems just like any other school, but none that are major. I must say, grad school is much different and it takes awhile to adjust from the nurse to the provider but the professors understand this and do help with the process. Also, the professors at UF are extremely intelligent, approachable, and willing to help as much as possible. The professors are also very strict and exams really do test to make sure you understand the concepts, which I would hope is the same everywhere. The program is online for the most part. I love it and hate it at the same time. I love it because I can make my own schedule, etc. I hate it because interacting with other classmates can be difficult. The online aspect also requires a lot of self discipline (which I struggle with sometimes) because when you don't have to be physically in class for lecture, it's easy to procrastinate that lecture and other things. If you choose UF, you will have some in-person lab sessions during the first year, so make some connections with classmates then. You really cannot get through the program without other classmates. And to be specific for Jacksonville, you will have your in-person lab sessions there in Jacksonville. I believe the only thing Jax students came to Gainesville for was orientation and the Harrell Center Experience (male and female pelvic exam practice on real people). UF is a great school, I don't think you would regret coming here as your choice, but if I were you, i'd choose my gut feeling because your real answer is there. Congrats again! Hopefully I will see you around! Anything else, just ask!
Jun 19, 201411 yr FLDNP, can you read private messages? I sent you one but I'm not exactly sure how they work in regard to the amount of posts needed to send/receive. Are you able to see it?

Jun 19, 201411 yr So I finally heard back, and unfortunately I was not accepted this year. Calling to discuss with admissions soon. I know I was rushed when I submitted, and there are things that I can definitely improve upon for my application next year . Good luck this year everyone and I'm sure I'll see you around next year!
