  1. @nvictoria .. you can send me your e-mail through private message if you don't want to post it on the thread. I can see the messages, just cannot reply!
  2. @nvictoria .. I can see your message, but I cannot reply. What is your email?
  3. aleyRN , congrats on getting accepted! I too had to make the difficult decision between schools last year. Clearly, I chose UF and so far, I couldn't be more pleased. Saying that, I don't believe there is any program out there that is perfect. UF does have its faults and problems just like any other school, but none that are major. I must say, grad school is much different and it takes awhile to adjust from the nurse to the provider but the professors understand this and do help with the process. Also, the professors at UF are extremely intelligent, approachable, and willing to help as much as possible. The professors are also very strict and exams really do test to make sure you understand the concepts, which I would hope is the same everywhere. The program is online for the most part. I love it and hate it at the same time. I love it because I can make my own schedule, etc. I hate it because interacting with other classmates can be difficult. The online aspect also requires a lot of self discipline (which I struggle with sometimes) because when you don't have to be physically in class for lecture, it's easy to procrastinate that lecture and other things. If you choose UF, you will have some in-person lab sessions during the first year, so make some connections with classmates then. You really cannot get through the program without other classmates. And to be specific for Jacksonville, you will have your in-person lab sessions there in Jacksonville. I believe the only thing Jax students came to Gainesville for was orientation and the Harrell Center Experience (male and female pelvic exam practice on real people). UF is a great school, I don't think you would regret coming here as your choice, but if I were you, i'd choose my gut feeling because your real answer is there. Congrats again! Hopefully I will see you around! Anything else, just ask!
  4. Hey guys! I was searching through some DNP stuff on here and came across this thread! I am currently a full time student in the program at UF. I was accepted last year. I cannot believe how late you are getting your letters! If I can answer any questions from a student perspective, let me know! Congrats to you all. It's very exciting!
  5. Hey guys, shall we start a Facebook group?
  6. Dont doubt yourself! Shoot for the stars! My GRE scores weren't the best - 150's in both sections (quantitative and verbal). I had a 3.6 cumulative GPA and 3.9 BSN GPA. I am a new BSN graduate so no real licensed experience yet (I plan to work PRN through the program). If you have no experience thats no big deal, they usually accept 50% experienced and 50% non experienced if they have the applicants who qualify. As far as any tidbits, I honestly believe that relationships and communication with the CON staff can help, at least they have seen your name before and have had communication with you which shows your interest. Start studying for the GRE early and don't put it off. Vocabulary is what I struggled with so start memorizing early! Good Luck to you!
  7. I got my e-mail on Friday & I got accepted as well! I had called the CON yesterday morning (Friday) and was told that all e-mails was in the process of being sent out and everyone would know in the next couple of days. CONGRATS to everyone else who has heard as well!
  8. Anyone had any correspondence with the College of Nursing? No letter yet or anything for me! They originally said that letters would be sent out the last week of April or First week in May. That time is definitely here and I'm getting anxious!
  9. Hey guys! I applied for the adult track. I believe we should receive letters in the mail around the end of April or first of May! How was your application process?
  10. I have applied as well! The deadline was this past Friday so its time to start checking the mail daily! Have you heard anything from the CON at all?
