Hey everybody,

I have been unable to attend any of the info sessions at UCLA. I was wondering if any of you knew how possible it is to work while doing the FNP program. I would like to work at least part time (full time would be great!) but I am not sure how conducive the program is for jobs. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks!

Hi Rhythsetradio! I got my letter on March 15th, but didn't get the email until april 11th. Almost a one month delay!

I have two friends who are currently finishing up their first year at UCLA. One is doing the adult/gero acute care dual np/cns, and one is doing the adult gero acute care np. They both say that it is definitely challenging, so the less work you have, the better. So far, they still both work 2x per week, but the girl in the dual program is considering going down to just working 1x per week.

Hey jvaric5,

I am newly admitted FNP student for next year. Do you have an email address. I cant PM. Was going to ask a question that your 2 friends might know the answer to since I don't know anyone currently in the program. What program are you in?

Thanks!!

Hi DinaF6! Congratulations! I'm going to be doing the adult/gero primary care. [email protected]

Hey for everyone that has got in, do you know what the next step is? I've already filled out all the SLR/SIR.

@rhythsetradip - did you turn in a copy of your RN license and intent to enroll (if any) for any summer classes? I got an email from them to turn those two things in but as far as what to do after, I'm not too sure. Anyone else taking Physical Assessment this summer?

i'm gonna have to take physical assessment too. $1500 >_

I have to take the assessment class too! Did you guys get an email about what time you got yet?

I haven't received any info at all after turning in my intent to enroll for the summer session. Did you receive a follow up email? Also, anyone thinking of taking research this summer?

Where are you all living! I'm relocating from San Diego and looking for affordable and relatively close places is giving me a headache lol

Haven't heard anything either after turning in all the stuff.

@murse89 - I think I'm gonna take the research class just to have a lighter load for the first quarter. Good luck on the search! I can only imagine how hard it is to find something decent and affordable close to campus! I'm planning on staying in Long Beach where I live, which is about 30 miles from campus. But I know that can easily turn into a two hour drive in LA traffic. I'm just gonna hope to get clinical placements closer to where I live, so I would only have to drive to LA for lectures! I guess we'll see how it goes =)

I haven't received anything either. I emailed to follow up and we should all be getting an email soon regarding the Physical assessment class. I live in Torrance and I don't really plan of moving closer. I am hoping we can find carpool buddies because it would make it -much- easier to get through that traffic.
