  1. Got mine too! I'll be in Lab B! Crazy how it's almost starting. Meet you all soon :)
  2. For those taking assessment this month (!), did you already receive what section you will be in? I lost access to my email this week and I'm not sure if I missed any important emails. Thanks!
  3. Don't let the amount of experience deter you from applying if this is truly what you want to do. I will only have a little over two years of acute care experience at a teaching hospital at the time of starting the program. I second the importance of the statement of purpose. If experience is what you are lacking, let them know what you have done in the short time that you've been a nurse. And let your passion and enthusiasm shine through in your statement. And definitely attend an info session to learn more as everyone has already mentioned. For those admitted and taking Advanced Research this summer, did you guys already sign up for the class and, if so, how do you go about doing it?
  4. Do you guys know if we have to sign up for the class officially on UCLA summer registration or will they enroll us automatically once they chose the lab sections?
  5. I haven't received any info at all after turning in my intent to enroll for the summer session. Did you receive a follow up email? Also, anyone thinking of taking research this summer? Where are you all living! I'm relocating from San Diego and looking for affordable and relatively close places is giving me a headache lol
  6. @rhythsetradip - did you turn in a copy of your RN license and intent to enroll (if any) for any summer classes? I got an email from them to turn those two things in but as far as what to do after, I'm not too sure. Anyone else taking Physical Assessment this summer?
  7. @svla - It was definitely a hard decision to make, but a good hard decision to make because both were my top choices and I don't think I would have gone wrong with either school. I was pretty sure I would chose UCSF if it came down to it and I almost did. But, I changed my mind last minute because I thought about it and UCLA is a better fit for me. I know that both program will be rigorous and have it's stressful moments, so because I live in San Diego, the prospect of having home and my family and friends nearby whenever I need them was ultimately what decided it for me. Also, it would be cheaper and UCLA is offering me a Fellowship so the fact that I probably won't have to take out loans for the first year was too much to pass up. As far as working, I keep hearing that it is hard to work more than per diem in these programs. I'm going to try to see if I can keep my job at the hospital I work at now (in SD) and maybe work every other weekend while in school, but I'm not sure yet. Anyways, long post sorry lol. I hope you hear back soon!
  8. @svla - sorry for the late reply. UCLA gave me a deadline of March 29 and UCSF is on April 8. Both schools only gave about a week to send in my intent to enroll. I think each specialty was notified at different times though so the deadline might differ with each one. Hope that helps!
  9. I was admitted to UCSF for the AGNP primary care specialty (my online status changed) last Wednesday. I'm probably going to decline my offer though since I got into UCLA. Good luck! Hope you hear something soon. The wait is the worst.
  10. Hi everyone, I received my email link and graduate division letter online prior to my letter in the mail from the school (which I thought was a bit strange). Hopefully, you'll get yours soon though. I wish they gave us more time to decide though.
  11. @llzz congrats!! I was just wondering how you heard back from UCSF? I applied too but haven't heard back and neither has my online status changed from under review.. I prob didnt get in but I want to know for sure before making any final decisions.
  12. @Rhythsetradio I applied for Adult/Gero Primary Care NP.
  13. Yes, from San Diego.
  14. Just as an FYI everyone: I got my official acceptance letter in the mail today. And the deadline to submit an intent to enroll is March 29.
