UBC 2021

Hiya folks!

It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness.

Is anyone else already excited for next September?

Oh my gosh, yes! The wait might actually be the death of me. ?

Less than two months to know our fates! ? What are your stats?

Hi everyone! The wait is so hard! I’m applying with 90% in my last 30 credits but I don’t have much related experience and didn’t feel great about Casper. Has anyone confirmed when admissions will go out? I know in the past it’s been beginning of May but I’m worried it might be later this year with the number of applicants and the later deadline for the supplemental application.

BSc Psych, just finishing up my last semester (YAY!), initially I was going to do a masters program in clinical psychology but I had a change of heart after my second year. I was always interested in nursing and in hindsight should have just went into it after high school. I have a 3.95 (UBC Scale) on my last 30 credits, volunteer experience at local hospitals, cancer and schizophrenia societies... Currently employed at a dermatologists office as an MOA which I love and many years of experience caring for a family member with a disability. I feel pretty darn good about my supplemental application, the only thing I’m worried about is my CASPer. It drives me NUTS knowing that we don’t get the scores haha.

Impressive, thanks for sharing! It also drives me nuts. The whole process should be more transparent.

Are you a second time applicant? I hope it's not later! I don't know if I'll be able to survive the wait. ?

Hi everyone! Are you applying to any other nursing programs besides UBC? If so, which school is your top choice?

Wow you applied to a lot of schools! I hope you get into your top choices ? I only applied to UBC and BCIT, but now I'm thinking that maybe I should have applied to a couple of out of province schools!

UBC, U of T, U of A, Leth

UofA is probably my top choice bc I live in Edmonton (financial decision)

UofT is high second (top 3 nursing school in the world)

My GPA is around 3.0 -3.3 and I got a 4 two years ago when I applied...I'm praying I get a 1 on CASper and supplemental. Honestly, I have no idea what to think, but I beefed up my volunteer and relevant experience and worked super hard on my supplemental...so who knows. Don't lose hope and apply to other schools ?

Your situation sounds alot like mine!! Where are you taking the Anatomy and Physiology? I'm taking it through Athabasca and it's hard to stay on top of it!!

I’m doing mine through Athabasca. I’m in a mad rush to get it done by the end of may. I’m on ch 14. ?

Honestly, I have heard amazing things about U of A! Isn't it like the second best nursing school in Canada?
