UBC 2021

Hiya folks!

It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness.

Is anyone else already excited for next September?

For those of you who just finished CASPer, I hope it went well.

Hi everyone, I just did the Casper test and I was wondering how everyone felt about it? I was also wondering if anyone else completed the "snapshot" part of the test? Is it mandatory? Thanks!!

I just finished. Well, we’ll never really know right? LOL

I finally got the ready for evaluation status :') ... time to wait until May 1st

I was wondering what other schools are you all applying to and if UBC is everyone's first choice? I read in the news that all nursing and medical schools received a high volume of applicants this year.

Now it just needs to say "acceptance offered" ?

Snapshot part is not mandatory!

Mine is very similar but I edited it more. The application this year is different than last year though as they changed the questions. If you don't mind telling, what was your rank and were you placed on the waitlist?

I'm just concerned with the personal essay, as that is still the same. All the other questions for me I've answered differently.

I applied two years ago, really without a plan just kind of winged it. I got 2 - CASPer 3 - Supplemental and a 4 - for GPA. But all my volunteer experience wasn't recent and I wrote most of the supplemental the day it was due. I've since taken more courses to boost my GPA and hopefully did better on the CASPer.....either way I think it'll be a tough round of applications this year.

What were your scores? Is anyone applying out of province?

I got 3 on casper, 2 on supplemental and 1 on grades last year and was placed low on the waitlist. I am hoping I did better on the casper this round as well as I think that's what held me back last year. Good luck!

Anyone receive the email about not completing the CASPer assessment even though they already done it? I completed CASPer assessment on October 15, 2020.

No, what does it say?

Just letting any applicants know that UBC did not get a confirmation from Altus Assessment that the applicant didn't complete the CASPer assessment. The last date was February 11th 2021, and that they asked Altus Assessments to open two additional test for the applicants who did not complete it (apparently there's a number of applicants who have not yet completed the test).

Although if there's other October 15th 2020 test takers, perhaps there's an error somewhere?

EDIT: I didn't have the correct UBC Student number on file on the CASPer website. Probably why UBC didn't get a confirmation.
