Jun 18, 20205 yr Hey everyone! Just thought I'd start this thread for the upcoming Spring semester since no one else has:) I applied back in May and need one prerequisite which I'm taking in the Fall. Here's to good news guys, and good luck to all!
Jul 27, 20205 yr Thanks! Yes, I had all my pre-reqs competed and graded before I submitted. And I submitted my application before the deadline of June 1, offered a virtual (Zoom) interview on June 24, did the interview on July 13, then got my admission offer last week on July 22. I think there were about 15 others that interviewed with me.

Jul 29, 20205 yr Basically, I'm good to relax until November 2. That's when the Admission Packet will be available to download. It will contain all the tasks and deadlines to complete before school starts.
Jul 29, 20205 yr Were you all able to have your transcripts mailed in? I saw that the graduate school prefers you have it emailed or upload a copy via email.

Jul 30, 20205 yr I had transcripts from 3 different institutions. For 2 of them, I had official transcripts electronically sent to UAB through Parchment. For the other, I had the registrar's office mail it directly because they don't do electronic transcripts.

Aug 2, 20205 yr Hey All, Any one know acceptance rate of this program? I took my prereqs a LONG time ago and am making a career change and have to retake my Anatomy and Physiology's. Debating if I need to apply for this Spring or next.

I’m not sure of the acceptance rates but the cohort from this past year looked like around 80-90 students. Also as long as you take them before the program starts like in the fall, you should be okay.
Aug 6, 20205 yr Hey everyone, I wanted to ask a question: I applied before the priority deadline but received the "Not selected at this time" email. I had 4 remaining prereq's but finished two this Summer. I only have AP 2 and Nutrition left to take; I am scheduled to take both of those in the fall. I have had no shadowing or volunteer hours on my app due to working full time as a behavior therapist. Does anyone have any wisdom on the competitiveness of my app at this point? Any pointers? Thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone! Hi. They’re being very understanding with this cycle far as volunteer hours due to the pandemic. From the virtual informational session, the competitiveness isn’t really that bad (they accept anywhere from 40-100 so not a cap). You should be able to list your behavior therapist job as your experience though. I used my job because I work full time as a rehab tech at UAB. She recommended I let my boss be one of my letters of recommendation.
Aug 8, 20205 yr Hey everyone! Nice to meet you all. I just graduated from The University of Alabama this past Spring. I'm currently working as a pharmacy technician!! I will b applying for this next cohort; I actually just finished the last of my prerequisites. Wishing the best to everyone!
