UAB AMNP perspective

Hey! I'm not sure if you still check this since this was posted way over a year ago, but I am extrememly interested in the AMNP program that UAB has to offer. I want to get into the program so badly! I have an undergrad in communications and spanish and was curious if it was tough to get into and if I evem stand a chance. I have barely a 3.3 GPA, but worked full time in college at a medical center in the psych department.

I'm currently taking the pre-req courses at UAB and I would love more information regarding your experience. I'm also applying to the 2nd degree BSN program as a back up.

Have you applied for the Summer 2011 term at UAB? I was just wondering because that's the term I've applied for. I haven't heard anything back from UAB, and I have similiar fears about getting into the program. I have the same GPA as you too. I don't know anyone else that has applied for this year and don't really know what kind of applicants we're up against

Hey AUtiger, I'm actually aiming to apply for the summer of 2012. I just started the pre-reqs in January.

Good luck to you! Hopefully someone will reply and we can both get an idea of what all the program has to offer and what we can expect!

Im supposed to hear back from UAB next week about interviews.....if I get in then I'll be able to offer advice to you!

I do know one person that has gone through the program and I know he really liked it. He recommended it to me and has given me some good information. But my main concern right now is getting accepted.

Autiger, I see you got into the program for this summer! CONGRATULATIONS!! I know you feel wonderful about getting in!! I am applying for 2012 entry and was wondering if you could give me more information on the program, your thoughts, opinions, etc. I REALLY want to get into the program next year. My only concern is my low GPA (I've maintained a 4.0 in pre-reqs and will be done in the fall with 1 more course once I finish these last 2 this summer). @lbuac: how did you apply to both programs at once since one is at the graduate level and the other at the undergraduate level? Is it because you applied for the graduate one in spring and the undergrad one in fall?
