TWU Spring 2010

Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.

Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?

I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.

If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!

Are you hoping to get into the weekend program or regular program?

if you are referring to me I am hoping for the regular Houston program. I read on the website that the Houston location is no longer doing fasttrack, so i am unsure if this means 2009 was their last class for fast track.

achoutx,

Good luck! I hope you get in..all of this waiting is definitely nerve wracking!

Thanks...i need to get in soon cause I dont want take AP and Micro over again. My classes are at the 5 year mark and TWU will start requiring those course to be less than 5 starting in the fall of 2010, I believe.

I am glad to see that TWU has finally put on their website under the HESI A2 Requirements tab that the critical thinking is a required section of the test. I pressed TWU to add this on the website because I told them it was misleading to list all of the other sections and not that single section. I pressed them so hard (after what happened to me on the HESI) that my sister thinks they are not going to consider me as an applicant and she thinks they are just going to throw my app out. I am actually nervous about this. I had to fill out a TWU Academic Resolution Form and meet with the Dean on this. They probably think I'm some trouble maker.

Goopsy - I am sure they will still consider you. I have a feeling that the same thing that happened to you probably happened to a few others. I don't see why they would throw out an application (due to their error of not making it clear what sections were required). I think there were probably many errors since this is the first time they have used the HESI. It will probably take them a few application cycles to get everything down straight.

I was just kind of thinking about it...but who actually reviews our applications? All of the advisers? The dean of nursing? Professors?

Yeah,I reviewed that thread a couple weeks ago too when I was undergoing bad stress about getting in or not, even though I still am! hahaha Yeah the girlt hat got waitlisted, I looked further to see if she was ever called, but I'm assuming she must have been far down the waitlist because she was still posting after the spring semester for information on the next application cycle.

wait the critical thinking section counted?!?!?! TWU were acting like it did not count, and I don't think I remember it being incorporating into my composite score

What happened involving that section? You have a great shot at getting in and I'm positive they don't think your a trouble maker:nuke:

Rha Hea, I'm thinking they all just get in a room and all review the applications as a group. That's the image I get in my head whenever I think about what they are doing with are applications or what they could be saying about us lol

Does anyone know what they consider a good critical thinking score?
