Two week notice

I search the forums and could not find any topics on this subject matter. Has anyone ever put a two weeks notice in twice within months apart of each other? I thought I was making the best choice for me by staying at my job, but it turns out I am still not fulfilling my goals and dreams of the type of nursing I once had before. I am almost afraid to put in my letter or resignation again, I am not sure what I should? I am contemplating speaking to my DON, and verbalizing my concerns and issues.

Has anyone ever done this before?

    Your post is not clear. Did you put in a 2 weeks notice in the same hospital and move to a different department or did you put in 2 weeks notice then move to a different job, and are now contemplating putting in 2 weeks notice again for a second job?

    Or did you allow yourself to be talked into staying with the department after you gave your notice? (never a good idea)

    Sorry for the confusion, I put a two weeks notice in at my current employer, and then retracted the notice. I continued working at the same job for an additional 3 months, but now I want to send in my two weeks notice again for the same job.

    I did allow myself to be pulled back into the department, with the understanding that certain needs were to be met. I should have went with my first mind and left as initially planned, I regret allowing myself to be weak.

    You're right, you should have left the first time (although I hope you already had another job lined up). Do you have a new job lined up now? If so, go ahead and resign again, but definitely leave this time. You can only resign so many times before you just start to look ridiculous. :)

    You mention speaking with your DON -- have you not already done that? If there are things you like about your current job, I would exhaust every possibility of getting your needs met (in terms of the changes you are looking for) before resigning again. And then, if you do end up resigning again, do it for keeps.

    Thank you, I know what I have to do. I have spoken with the DON, however my concerns have fallen on deaf ears. I am writing my resignation (again) Monday.

    Do you have another job? I would not resign this job without having another one lined up, unless you can afford to be unemployed for an extended period (not saying you would be, but it's certainly a risk you would be taking ...)
