Stars sorry that things there are such a mess. hopefully the toilet issue can be quickly sorted out so at least you don't have to deal with that

Hi Tweety abbnurse and NJ22

Dianah I hope nothing is seriously wrong with the cat

Work was pretty good, busier than I expected, but nothing bad or unexpected.  After work stopped by the store and exercised

Cat didn't eat anything except a few cat treats which she later vomited *sigh* Thankfully it looks like she did eat some food overnight.  It isn't safe for cats to go without food for more than 24-36 hours

Sleep was less than great last night, woke up an hour and a half early and sort of drifted in an out of sleep.  Probably stress related

Decided I will call the vet today to get the appetite stimulant and give that a try. Will also call Dad and advise him that we need to delay our trip to visit my aunt, which was planned for this Friday.  Want to get the cat stable before I spend any significant time away from home.  Feel calmer now that I've come to that decision

Nothing unusual today at work, or after work except for grocery shopping and stopping by the vet for the medication

Bit warmer today in the low 50s

Good morning!

Joe, I hope the appetite stimulant works.

Stars, ugh.......

Dianah, hope your cat is okay and it's "just" a UTI.

Nothing much here going on.  One more day off.  Will do the mopping and meal prep thing.

Have a good day!

Hello all!

Thanks for your kind thoughts and concern for Ciri.  She did indeed have bladder stones, and underwent stone removal surgery last night (they removed two).  We will pick her up this afternoon, after she has completed the post-op regimen.  The cosmos knew we had our tax refund money coming, and decided to allocate it in their own special way.  Not that we regret spending it to keep our pets healthy, but I had to sigh and shake my head.  And I may have rolled my eyes ...

BUT, bottom line is, she is doing well and will be back home soon.  She is the sweetest cat, and we miss her loving temperament.  ?

Temps continue in the high 80's.  Kids are fine.  We are healthy (knock on wood).

Have a good afternoon and evening!

I'm glad Ciri's on the mend, and hope Joe's cat is doing better, too. Ilsa seems to have come through her surgery with flying colors. I think you made the right call to postpone travel and remove some of the anxiety.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Looks like we'll travel to Texas at the end of next week and then to Indiana some time after that. I'm a little concerned about Twin A missing classes and work. I figure the hospital can let Twin B travel with us, though I know it is a bit of hardship getting that shift filled (and he was sick all weekend this week).

Good to read all the kitties are doing better.

I drove sis to Seattle for a cardioversion  this morning in the pouring rain, and it was miserable with poor visibility, heavy traffic, and a bit of hydroplaning. We were 30 minutes late. It only took 2 hours. She got a  burn from the pads. I meant to remind them that she has gotten burned in the past, but in our rush, I forgot. Sometimes they will try to press the pads firmly to reduce burning. She wasn't hungry, even though she had been fasting, so we came straight home, with a bit of delay from detouring around the mud slide that still has the northbound interstate closed.  I took a nap.

Eldest son stopped by to talk to his dad. I think they are planning to go see some baseball games. My tummy is upset, so I think I will have my old standby of saltines and milk for dinner, and go to bed early.

We picked up Ciri, she is doing well in spite of hating the Cone of Shame.  She is eating and we are watching her for First Pee and First Poop.  Tomorrow we start three BID meds X 14 days.  Tweety, I know you can relate!

Downside was, we showed up at 6:30 to pick her up, and left there just after 10pm.  They were either busy or under-staffed (or both).  We were patient...  but it was difficult!  We just wanted to get her home!   Hopefully she will heal nicely.  I'm sure she's glad to be home -- and we are glad she is home!

nursej22, I hope your tummy feels better.  Glad the cardioversion was successful, except for the burns!  And what a drive, to get there and back!  Glad you are home safe.

Joe, I hope the appetite stimulant works for your cat.

I dunno if I will be able to get to sleep tonight, after getting home so late.  We picked up some fast food on the way home, and of course, I ate it -- much later than I usually eat!  Ah well, tomorrow is a new day.

I hope you all sleep well.
