Trying to get some idea on timing

Hello everyone

Just a quick question for you. How long does it usually take from the time you apply for the NCLEX to the time you write your exam? And can you pick up an exam date or you will be assigned to write it in the earliest day in the schedule?

Thanks

Moved to a thread on it's own as a bit off topic to the thread it was in.

Timing varies from state to state but takes approx 3-6 months to get eligibility. Once you have eligibility you register with pearsonvue and get ATT then you can arrange to sit exam at a date available in the center you are planning on taking the exam in. Remember when you train outside the US timing takes a little bit longer due to meeting the state requirements as a International trained nurse

Thanks a lot.

I'm trying to write it in Minnesota State.

So that was what confused me too because in Canada, specifically in BC, we register for everything through college of nurses. From what I read, here, however, in States, you need to be eligible and then apply for the exam, which that takes time too.

I would not worry too much about the turn around time. Use that time wisely because it will be there no matter what you do. You schedule your own test appointment with the testing center. Most people pick a date from three weeks to three months out, depending on their own judgment concerning their readiness. Good luck.

Hi mayouch

I think yes, it's a good idea to go through questions in the mosby but don't get hung on very technical questions. I personally don't like the set up of the book and use ONLY the questions. As my reference I use my NCLEX book (Saunders). The other source for questions I have is Lippincott's CRNE prep guide. This one is only questions with rational and I heard very they are very close to what we might see in the exam.

you mean the book from the cna can u give ur email am so confused and afraid i dont know what to do when is ur exam ??? in june too
