I was looking for places I could try out a scope from and I found this on the Littmann site:
For a limited time, you can take a 14-day "test drive" of our new Model 3100 stethoscope, for free.
At the end of 14 days, we can assist you in finding a local dealer from which to purchase a Model 3100. And we will arrange a pickup of the loaner model.
If you'd like to try this exciting new product, call us at 1-800-413-1795.

thanks so much for posting this! I am a new grad working in cardiac ICU and I am looking for a better scope! this just might be it, although I already have the master cardio by littmann, which I love so far. anyone else have experience with the 3100 or comparable electronic scope?? please share!

I just got my Littmann 3100 in the mail today. I have used the Littmann 3000 stethoscope ever since I started the nursing program, and the Littmann 3100 has definitely improved on an already awesome product. The amplification is MUCH better than the 3000, and the noise reduction is better too. I haven't used the 3100 in a clinical setting yet, but I will tomorrow, when I start my first critical care rotation in the CCU! YIKES! Back to preplanning! I'm definitely gonna be up all night long!

So what did you have to do in order to qualify to try it out?? I've got a message on my VM to call them back, so I'm just wondering.

I use the 3000 and love it.
the 3100 amplifies things SO much better than the 3000. I'm definitely gonna miss it when i return it. Too bad i'm such a broke nursing student. UGH! It's gonna be the next thing i upgrade to. the LCD screen is great! it also takes pulse and displays it on screen! it obviously doesn't replace good nursing assessment skills, but it's nice for a baseline or a quick glance.
Mine is on it's way. I think it's so cool we cab try it before we drop $300 bucks on it. I hope it works great!
I got my scope in the mail today & I *LOVE* it. I have to get me one!
I just got my trial 3100 and I can't wait to try it out on the floor. I have used it on my family members to compare to my Master Cardio, and I find the volume adjustment quite helpful! it may be my next Littmann!

I have had my Littman 3100 for six months now in clinical settings and it is the envy of every Doctor who has tried it. Distinguishing crackles, wheezes, rales, cardiac clicking ,and the list goes on. Love the digital read out for heartrate. Would not work with out it! Rusty

Ordered my trial today.. should get it within 24 hours! so excited to try it... a little worried to use it through NS but I like to buy quality once instead of something so-so then later on buying something better..
I've had mine for 5 yrs and love it
