Hello!!!!
I am getting ready to start studying for transitions, and i purchased the studygroup 101 materials. The only problem is that when i downloaded it, all the files got messed up so I don't know which materials are for which test. Can anyone help me and let me know which files are on transitions test. It looks like community based nursing but that is all i could figure out.
Thanks!!!!

Look for anything on the history of nursing, nursing theorists, nurses that impacted history(nightingale, barton, mahoney), legal issues in nursing, nursing associations(ANA, NLN). Any files you open with this kind of information will be on "transitions". The other option is to get in touch with SG101 and tell them. I waited for the CD for two weeks and when it didn't arrive I emailed them and they sent me a link to download the material for HS and transitions and THEN sent me another CD! IMHO excellent customer service!

If you use the content guide provided by Excelsior it will help you focus in on what you need to study on for the exam.

I'm looking at the content guide and it has the information and then it reads like this: *(for example:living will and health care proxy).
Now, does this mean that reviewing living will and health care proxy are sufficient for this section?
Another one: Socioeconomic Factors (for example: role of women and society)
Is it sufficient to focus on the "for example" items when they are listed out for you or should I go deeper into the content?

When the content guide specifies (living will and healthcare proxy) I would know some of the important details of each--what is a living will, when does one compose it, legal aspects of it, etc. I would say yes, know the meaning. What I have found with this content guide is that some of the examples are related to the header--and the details don't go much farther than that. This is odd because you won't find this in many of the content guides for the rest of the program.
