Transferring a license

Sorry if this gets a little confusing and long.

Right now I live in Texas and am working on a med-surg floor as an LVN. I'm in school working on my RN and will graduate in 3 weeks (woohoo!) After that time I will receive my GN permit and test for my RN as soon as I feel that I am ready.

Hopefully in the early spring, I will be moving to Michigan. I've been advised by many people that it is easier to take boards in the state you graduated and then transfer your license - besides, I'm not ready to move until around April.

My question is - what do I need to do to transfer my RN license from Texas to Michigan? I have looked on both BON websites and didn't really find any helpful information.

Can anyone help me??? Thank you!!!

Go back to the Board of Nursing web site and download the RN by endorsment paperwork. A few cases require that they mail it to you. It's easy, don't procrastinate. Becaue it does take time.
