I'm watching Oprah. Fortunately I haven't seen mistakes like them. OMG how sad!!!!
My friends sister sued a hospital. She won a lot of money from sueing a local hospital. She lives a huge house now--but she has a child much like the little boy in a wheelchair. Unable to speak. Has no control of bowel/urinary, uncontrollable extremity movements. It's so sad.

Can you nurses tell me how often things like this happen? Why? Are the nurses at fault too?
I am stunned and scared and my heart just breaks for these people!
man. i'm speechless.

It is meant to shock you. It got your attention so that they could tell you what you can and should do as a consumer of health care.
Oftern people do not pay attention to a message unless they are shocked out of thier complacency.
The message (I did not see the show but looked at the posted link) seems to be you need to be an informed and responsible consumer of health care.
That is you are responsible for the care your receive.
This is not what normally or even usually happens when consumers don't inform themselves but how many people pay attention to what is normal and ususal?
It is an old speaker and writers technique. Say somthing out rageous then deliver the message.
