Tips on effectively using evernote?

Hello,

I've recently installed evernote. It's awesome!

I'm looking for general tips on how to use it best.

Also specifically I'm looking to be able to type text and add in pictures/writing/shapes/arrows etc in the same note. In microsoft Onenote you can do this with simple switch of tool bars. Can I get evernote to do this? I realize there is skitch but it seems too clumsy to transfer the skitch to the note. The teacher talks too fast for this too happen.

I use windows and android apps.

Thanks!

No Evernote is made by another company and competes with onenote. It has a PC/mac/android/ipad version.

Good day:

I use Evernote on my desktop (currently a PC; if and when I get a laptop, it will probably be an Apple Macbook -- not sure if air or pro) along with an android-based smartphone.

I have a minimum of one notebook per class; for some classes, I have an article notebook where I will clip articles related to the class or study material.

While I rewrite my hand written notes with a word processor, I do copy the end results to an Evernote note for the class.

I will often scan pictures into Evernote as a study guide. For example, when I had to study the anatomy of the heart, I had a picture from the text book that I scanned into Evernote. I could, in Evernote, adjust the picture so I did not see the labeled areas, then work through testing myself.

Thank you.
