Tweety glad that you've seen improvement overall

Stars wow 22 cats? I couldn't even imagine having that many

Work was better yesterday, despite getting a new case and having to work on the side project. Busy morning but was able to slow down a bit in the afternoon. After work was fairly quiet too, just stopped at the library and exercised

Today should be pretty normal at work, no meetings and don't need to work on the side project. After work will exercise and do some more packing

Looks the the trip will be rainy...will rain here Fri and Sat, will rain there Sat and Sun. Just hope it won't be too stormy on the drive there and back, that makes things more difficult

Will be a bit warmer today, in the mid 60s

I had a long day yesterday, went to bed relatively early, and now I am awake, relatively early. Normally I would lie in bed, listening to NPR, but my phone died and I couldn't locate my charging cord in the dark. I am sharing a motel room with eldest ds, and I am trying not wake him by turning on a bunch of lights.

We started out yesterday, in the rain, with intentions of picking up sis to take her to her doc appt in Seattle. But she didn't answer the door! Turns out she wasn't watching the time and was in the shower. Then she had to catch her 3 cats. We left 20 minutes late, and I was already dreading Seattle traffic, which is notoriously bad when it rains. And it was. We were 45 minutes late, and the office said we had to reschedule. So we will do a tele appointment next week. Even though previously they said it had to be in person. Then, eldest ds picked me up, while dh took sis home. We got to airport, and our flight was delayed by an hour. Got here to Palo Alto, went to a meet and greet for today's conference. It was very nice, had a nice Italian meal, and a small glass of wine. Then back to motel. The conference itself is today, and we will spend tomorrow "touristing".

I like have 2 dogs, but you are right Tweety, in that elderly dogs can have a lot of expenses. I like having Boston Terriers, because they have short coats, they are silly and loving, and don't mind just kicking back and chilling. At least, when they are not breaking into people food.

On a train somewhere in Texas...

I guess I never posted yesterday. Was just going to say that I loved "All of Me" with Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin. Of course I have not seen it in A Very Long Time. The New Horizons jazz band played the song at our concert last week and it has been on my brain anyway, then Stars brought up the movie!

We are running about half an hour or more late getting to Ft. Worth. I have plenty of time to catch the train from Ft. Worth to San Antonio. I'll be glad for a chance to use a real bathroom and then get some lunch.

I miss our dogs but Hubs will not agree to getting one. And yes the expenses do add up. Sam had 4 teeth extracted Tuesday. The estimate had been over $900 but the final amount was just about $580. Our financial advisor would be annoyed with us.

Oh, we are here. Time to get out and eventually board the next train.

Hi, y'all!

Nothing bizarre or Earth-shaking has happened today, so far, at least in this neck of the woods. I actually did not sit up in bed and read last night, I felt so peculiar, that (because I was hungry) I ate a small can of World Planet brand of a salad of tuna-pasta-and green olives w/ pimentos, and after a few minutes I turned out the light and went to sleep. And I slept for 6 solid hours. Went back to sleep and slept for two more hours, and then when I woke up I was really AWAKE! The feeling of any pending big event disappeared overnight, thank goodness,

I can't believe it is only 2:30 PM now. I'm going to walk Tinker for the third time today. Oh, hey, I found a tick on her ear last night but didn't know where my tick removing tool was, so I found an old hair clip which I bent, and successfully used that to take it out. Then I took a lighter and burned it right out of this world!

Nothing important scheduled for today, feeling no pressure to do anything. I've watched some amusing videos on-line, but have done nothing worth writing about.

The dealership guy returned my call yesterday but when I found the message it was way after their closing time. So I return-called him this AM at 10:30 AM and left him a message. I was thinking of leaving him a message this afternoon, singing "This is Major Tom to Ground Control, and I'm waiting for a call from you today-ay-ay-ay", or something like that. But I probably won't. I have turned the cellphone ringer up to a startling #7, so if the phone is in my pocket when I am outside, I will still be able to hear it. I'd better remember to turn it down before I go to bed! I do sometimes get too-early-in-the-morning calla, like once at 4 AM, and then the next day at 6 AM, and this morning at 7:15 AM. All SPAM-ish calls which did leave a message, so I would have to go to voicemail, but each message consisted of absolutely NOTHING.....Ppfftt!

I did not fix the beef stew last night, but HOPE TO remember to do it tonight so it can stew in its own juices on low, in the crockpot. Then tomorrow I can eat some for my breakfast/lunch, which occurs ----around 3 PM each day, and I plan to divide up portions to stow in the freezer for another day.

I may have lost the last sentence to this post, but maybe I didn't . If you find a partial unfinished or finished message appended at the very bottom of this one.........Oh well!

Hello all!

nursej22, too bad you had to reschedule your sis's appointment. Good you arrived in Palo Alto 'in a timely fashion,' hope the meetings today are good. What will you see tomorrow, as a tourist? Palo Alto used to have "Foothill Park," for city residents ONLY. I dunno if they still have that. Sis went to Paly High (Palo Alto High School); I, as mentioned, went to Jordan Jr. High (probably Jordan Middle School now). Man, that was a LONG time ago! Hope you stay safe and enjoy your trip!

Ado, train travel, how fun! Stay safe.

Joe, I hope you have a good trip, despite the rain. Sometimes it's just good to get 'away.'

No Stars, I hope you and the car repair person are able to connect, SOMEtime!

We have the one wee doggie, who is 13 yo and is slowing down this year. And yes, agree that older dogs require more medical appointments/care! Plus we have the four cats, who BTW were VERY glad to see us home!

Today we drove the RV to its storage place, so it is snug and protected. I had washed all the linens we'd used on the trip, and they are in it, on the bed, ready for the next trip. All items of interest or that might spoil, were removed and the fridge is turned off. Again, ready for the next trip!

It is a nice 74 degrees today with a breeze. Yesterday we had a nice lunch of sushi with oldest ds, then took him over to a War Hammer shop so he could see what is going on there. War Hammer (or is it Warhammer?) is a hobby that involves playing on a board against other players (gotta learn the rules, too), after making your game pieces. Ds has chosen a contingent of Orks to build and maintain. One purchases the pieces, which come in blocks of connected pieces (much like the old assemble-them-yourself miniature display cars). Ds says half the fun is assembling the pieces, then painting them. The little shop had a painting table, and paints and brushes with ITTY-BITTY tips, for the fine detail work. Ds plays the Warhammer 40,000 series, though there were others featured. Good that he likes it! He still does play D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) once a week, with youngest ds and his wife and others. And now, this Warhammer series too.

Well, that's it for now! This Sunday afternoon is the Gospel Sing at Oak Glen, we'll be attending that.

Have a good evening!

G'day!

At one point my sister had four cats, two rats, and a gecko. She now has two cats, but there's some strays hanging around the house she looks after.

Safety travels to those on the road or about to be.

I'm having spaghetti with lentils this week. Had it for dinner last night and tonight. So far so meh with the digestive system. It's really good and I don't miss the meat.

First day back to work was okay. We were short a nurse. They pulled a tech but she wound up being a no-call no show. I don't get it. But at least it was her turn to float and it was the other floor that had to deal with it.

A friend of a friend contacted me that my friend was dying on hospice but didn't elaborate and I didn't pry. We lost touch lately. We were in a gay book club and a 12 step program together. We also got together for a couple of Pride events. Sad because he is younger than me.
