It's hardly even worth checking the weather here most of the time because it is always the same Summer pattern, hot, humid and 51% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon or early evening. ('Cept yesterdays storm was a humdinger, for sure.)

I forgot to mention that yesterday I went to CVS to get my Supplements and Vitamins that had become expired in a big way, and I HAD TO have 'em because they are my cold-symptom killers, and I was getting that feeling in the back of my throat, plus I had to get a few other things. All the ones I needed to buy were two-fers, like buy one get one free, PLUS I had coupons from the last several times I'd been there, and I ended up SAVING: (ta-dah-de-dah): $76.26 !!!. w00t! Major win, eh? I ended up paying about $49 for the whole bag of 'em! Too bad LIFE is not like that ALL the time!

I am still only one document shy of having the pile I need in order to go get my Fla license, and then I have to fork over the big bucks to them, no coupons, no deals, just a big drain on the bank acct. But then I will be OFFICIALLY a new Floridian. Big whup, but at least legal and ready to vote. Many of the times I've voted I have not been on the 'winning team', so to speak, but I DEARLY hope I am THIS TIME!

I've located the Dr's office I need to go to on the 19th, it is just about two or so miles from the house, in the same stretch of stores near DUNKIN ... Donuts, that is. I think it is stupid they truncated the name of the business. Not that I go very often, but Cracker Barrel did the same with their sign and had to change it back because there was such a big squawk about it. Such emotional importance attached to these corporate changes, eh?

So I have to go out and do a little more banking, to switch money from one bank to the other one with the debit card. Once I get the new DL I will get a debit card to the acct that my SS check goes to for deposit. Make life a little easier, but not a big deal since both banks are right beside each other. I think checks are on the way out, because many new clerks are not exactly sure of how to deal with them anymore, And it is said in some circles that using debit cards is a way for the gov't to keep track of what we spend our $$ on. But Pfftt to that because one way or the other there is always something bad to be said about however things are dealt with. I just like not having to pay interest on what I spend. If it isn't in the acct, I can't spend it and that makes it easier to keep track of the balance, provided I remember to subtract the amount from the balance! And most of my bills now are on automatic withdrawal, so I also have to remember to keep track of them, or I'm in trouble balance-wise. THAT actually was a benefit to my senior brain to have to record checks written, 'cos if it is not on paper in front of my eyeballs, it has a tendency to disappear from my brain. Prolly if I did it all on line, like Tweety recommends, that would help, but I still have that aversion to doing biznezz on-line. I guess I am slowly being dragged into the "future', which is actually the present day for so many, except me. (==============<< those are the tracks of my feet being dragged while resisting.)

Okay time to stop dilly-dallying, get dressed, walk the dog and then go out to the bank. Maybe when I come back I can make this the "Clean The Floor Day", and even "Hang Up The Clean Clothes Day", "Make The Bed Day", and "Do A Small Laundry Day". Make Tweety PROUD if me!! 😃😉

Joe, glad you day yesterday seemed a bit better. Hope today is the same.

I like not having a check register where I have to write down what I spend and make sure I don't forget and make sure my math is right. This is helpful when I sometimes make three or four stops to spend money. I can do that but the I'd rather not. The last hold out was my bug guy wanted a check every three months and this last time they had an online payment option. I pay it and it instantly is taken out of my account for me to see. I check my bank account almost daily, same as I would a check register.

My dad is mostly a cash person. I took him on some errands the other day and we got gas and he toddled his nearly 93 year old self inside and left $60 in cash and toddled back in to collect the change. He apparently saves his change and has hundreds of dollars in coins. We picked up some take out Italian. He said the fast food hot dog place he likes no longer takes cash.

Nothing much going on today. Best friend has a cold and I was going to make lunch but he had to cancel.

My latest in my string of bad luck after the flight, jamming my finger is that my glasses broke. Somehow I dropped them from my night stand and I can't fix them. The place I bought them is closed. I do have an old pair and the prescription isn't that different so I'll use them. The optometrist I used to go to no longer takes my vision insurance and the doc I see is opening a new practice in October so I'll just wait. I guess I could go anywhere to get them fixed but I think they are permanently broke.

It's frustrating to have practices that take this and that insurance. When one of my docs moved to Michigan, I wanted another doctor I like but he didn't take my insurance. Apparently since we've changed owners and got new insurance, he does now. My last doctor moved twice and the 2nd time was to a practice that didn't take my insurance. The days of doctors starting a practice and staying there for life is long gone. It's corporate now.

My current doctor is a salaried employee of the same organization I work for. I guess there are pros in that she makes the same no matter how many patients she sees so they don't overbook, and a lot of the office and financial administration is taken care of by someone else.

Looking back at that post, maybe it was the reference to "boat people" -- by which I meant people who own sailboats and keep them at that lake.

I get flagged if I use too many punctuation marks. Perhaps spammers like to string together exclamation points or dashes with a "greater than" sign.

Did a big shop today for the trip, and dropped off some old garden chemicals and gas cans at the toxic waste site. Then home to clean the kitchen, off to a meeting, now home to watch the news. dh will be back in an hour or so and we'll make the fajita kit I picked up at Costco.

I gave up my check register along time ago. I used to balance it to the penny, but once debit cards came into use, the other person on my account neglected to write them in or tell me about them. This was a huge area of conflict. Our incomes finally reached the point that I could keep a comfy balance and not have to worry about bouncing checks every month, so I let it go. That is probably naive of me, but the stress wasn't worth it.

Youngest ds has been having an issue with insurance. He got his CPAP while he was with Kaiser and had to go to a certain respiratory company. His heating element went out, but the company won't fix it because he's not covered by Kaiser anymore. But they won't transfer his prescription to another company without info from Kaiser. And guess who doesn't want to give up info on someone no longer covered? He is going to have to have visit with the provider to get a new prescription for a new CPAP. How stupid is that?
