Hello kray,

I'm currently in the THR nursing program and will be graduating next week.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I didn't realize THR had a nursing program? Can you give me some general info? What degree do you graduate with? Any help is appreciated!

You must be an employee or the spouse/dependent of an employee. You may want to check with the Center for Learning to get the specifics on admission. The general program is an associates degree from El Centro. They also offer a RN-BSN and BSN-MSN nursing program through UTA.

Thanks so much for the info. I had never heard of that before. I will check with the center for learning. Do you know if you have to be a full time employee, or is part time or half time okay? Are the acceptance requirements the same as if you applied directly to El Centro?

I am so frustrated with preparing to apply to nursing school. Every school has different requirements (although many are the same), different application dates, etc. Sure would be a more streamlined process if they all had a standard set of criteria across the board, but I'm not sure that would ever happen!

I believe that you can be full-time, part-time, or PRN. Check with the Center for Learning to be sure. The acceptance requirements are the same as El Centro. The application process has changed since I was accepted, so I would check with the Center of Learning to verify the process.

i know several people who have done it and i know you need to be employed 1 full year before you an do the program

i knew that something had changed, because i was only with the company for a few months when i got accepted. i also heard that you have to be a pct for that 1 year, but i'm not totally sure if that is correct.

I know this is an older post, but does anyone have any new info on their program?

Is it available for full time, part time or PRN? Any certain position you must hold before you can apply for their program? Do you need to be employed a certain length of time before you can apply?

Thanks!! :)

I just started THR 09/13/10, and I have already spoke with a Career Counselor. You don't need to be with the company for 1 year to start or a PCT for 1 year. They really need people to start the program. UTA have flexible starting dates to complete your Pre-reqs. online. I plan to start with the ADN program next June with El Centro. I have all my pre-reqs for Brookhaven, but I dont have the pre-reqs for El Centro, lacking one... hoping I can get a flex course completed before Jan. 2011.

I have the current packet from the Career Dept. for El Centro and UTA BSN Accelerated program. They have courses you can complete online in little as 5 weeks (exp. MATH-Alegbra). check it out, they also have information on our employee website. They pay for the BSN program, you must commit to a 2yr. contract.

A Win-Win situation, if you ask me.

Good Luck with your future endeavors and let me know if you have additional questions.

Did anyone who's previously gotten into the UTA AP Online BSN Program partnered hospital as Texas Health Resources? If so, what was your GPA prior to being accepted into the program? Any helpful information will be greatly appreciated!
