Thesis participation

Hello NPs or NP students !!

I am thinking of doing my master's thesis on "NP education satisfaction as a provider". I am meeting my advisor this friday and have to get approval for the topic but in the meantime, I was wondering how many of you (either NPs that graduated within last 5 years or NP students that are currently in traditional master's NP program, not direct entry or accelerated program) would be willing to participate in a survey questionnaire. I am seeking traditional master's prepared or BSN or ASN-BSN graduated students because I want to focus on the effectiveness of nursing education from the basic to advanced level. Nothing against DEMP or accelerated programs.

Participants in the questionnaire would answer the survey honestly. Along with survey qustionnaire, other information required will be your age bracket (like 20-30, 30-40), state you are schooling as NP students (school name not required), state you graduated from nursing school and state you are practicing (for NPs that are practicing). You will also have a feedback box where you can put any suggestions you feel will be valuable. All information will be strictly used for research only.

If my advisor approves, I will have a web link for you guys to go and fill the survey pretty soon. Please, reply to this thread so that I can have an idea how many people are interested. I might have to think other topics if this is not a interest to you guys (the NPs). My classmates (15 of them will participate) but that would represent only 1 school and 1 state. It would be nice to compare other states.

Thank you !!

I would be glad to help but I'm a CNS who did an adult health CNS in 2006 and a peds CNS in 2010. If I can help, just PM me. Or post here.

Thank you trauma so much. I am meeting my advisor on Friday, if she approves, I will definitely contact you or have a weblink posted here. All CNS are encouraged to participate too. Thank you again !!

I am still in school, but if I can help, then I would be glad to do so.

Grrrrrrr.... my topic was not approved. Her reasons for disapproving: getting online NP survey is not reliable  because anyone can sign up and pretend to be a NP or NP student. About surveying my classmates it would be redundant  ...NPs who have graduated previously had already done such projects with previous class samples. Now, I have to rethink again on what I want to do that is deemed suitable but yet interesting :smokin:

Sorry to hear that. I am trying to finish up my research, and I did an online survey. I was able to get some of the NPs who are in my state's NP association to complete my study. So, if your state has an NP association, perhaps they would be willing to let you survey their members. The association sent out the email, which basically was a letter I wrote explaining the survey, etc. and it since it was sent by the association, I knew they were sending it only to people who were members. I did have to ask that student members or retired members not participate. That's a thought, good luck.
