Thermometer

What brand of contact less thermometer is everyone ordering for your schools? I had a few in mind but they are all out of stock...surprise, surprise! My school is asking me to order ASAP and all I can find are cheapies found on amazon.

I ordered an iHealth one this week that seems decent. It was $56 with tax, and had good reviews. The two that my school ordered were cheapies that don't even turn on, so I bought my own.

I don't even know what brand we got. Basically whatever we could find. I think my site director ordered a couple different brands so I can compare the temps we get with them with our tympanic thermometer. It's a crapshoot at this point.

I was afraid of that. Thank you!

I did about 3 hours of deep-dive research on these and the bottom line appeared to be that many are inaccurate. If you use them, they must be used according to manufacturers' directions, etc. like a specified distance from the forehead. The person is supposed to acclimate to the room's temperature for 30 minutes and I read about inaccuracies if someone comes in from the cold, is in sunlight, etc.
