The Infamous Wait

Published

many of us are waiting very anxiously to get into a nursing program! :uhoh3:

let us know when your time stamp is (for maricopa ccs), how long you have been waiting, if you just got accepted, or anything else you feel like sharing!

we all need some encouragement every now and then and i think it would be encouraging to see the progress everyone is making! :yeah:

you can also see where you are compared to others; either a lifetime away or in the home stretch!

there may be a thread like this that already exists, but i could not find it.

  • i still have quite a long ways to go! i just got my time stamp today for the maricopa ccs ! it is 04/16/2010 08:00:50am!! :D i have no idea if that is good or not, but it is exciting to see that i am officially "waiting" (even though it seems like i have been waiting forever already). i picked my top 5 choices for schools, well, i only picked two so far.

  • i also just turned in my lpn application at gateway during the april 2010 submission period. i know that fall 10 is already full, but i heard that there is a 50/50 chance i could be placed spring 2011. if i get placed here first, then i will do the advanced placement into block 3 & 4 to get my rn. i am sure the wait will be a lot shorter and i hear that block 1 & 2 of the lpn is better than block 1 & 2 of the rn program! :)

  • i think i may also do the phlebotomy program for the fall 2010 semester at phoenix college because i have already done the nursing assistant program at scc.

My date stamp was 8/16/09 and I am not sure about the time, but I was placed for Fall in SCC Accelerated Program.

My date time stamp is 06/16/2009 08:02:35AM. Coming up on a year...

I am currently taking BIO 202 online @ Rio and setup to take BIO 205 onine @ Rio in the fall. I'm really hoping to get in Jan 2011. If not I'll take a Pathophysiology class + Medical terminology class to keep me in "study mode"!

:D

cd1234: how exciting! are you a sch employee? that seems like a really short wait. congratulations! :yeah:

msiegel: i am sure you will get in this spring. i am taking 202 online right now too, but i am taking it with phoenix college. i took bio 101 at rio, but at pc you do not have to go to a testing center for midterms and finals. i just finished a medical terminology (hcc145aa) with rio and it was a simple class. i think i got a 100%! pathophysiology and bio 205 are still on my list though too.

Specializes in none.

koalakoala would you tell me why were you taking hcc145aa? will we need this at some point? or you did it just on your own? and mentioned that it was easy class... its a good news, i guess, if i will have to take it as well:)

Hi all,

my time stamp was for 12/19/08 and I was just placed in March for Fall 2010 SCC program.

It was about a 3-4 semester wait for me, with 5 options chosen. It appears to be going faster because of economy and many students not being able to afford to go at this time or students not responding to re-affirm their interest.

Hopefully you will be able to get in quicker than the 3-4 semester wait. I believe at this time it is at 2/09.

Here is a link, in case you don't know about it, to the placement board...

Best of luck to everyone!

hey! it is called "medical terminology for health care workers i." it is not a "required" course, but it is only one credit and it is a really good class to take while you are waiting. i am thinking about doing phlebotomy fall 10 and it is a pre/corequisite for the program at phx. college. they have i, ii, and iii if you are interested!

Need to apologize..i don't know if the link is working for others. I'm not sure that it is.

I clicked on it and it comes up as error.

Although, when I click on my favorites button, it does work..so i'm not sure if it's just blocked through here...

This is exactly the posting I was and had been looking for. Thank you! I just started spending time on this site yesterday. I'm going to write some detail so others won't have to go through what I went through, or somehow to avoid what I went through.

I got a terrible time stamp. I had all nursing application requirements completed by the middle of March 09, and then I couldn't get w/ my advisor. She was either booked or on vacation. I did finally get w/ her on April 7, '09, which meant I had missed the deadline for March 31. Ugh.

Because my app was in by early April, then I'd have to wait 2 more months to get my time and date stamp. At the time I didn't truly understand the whole thing, but now I do of course.

I got my date and time stamp on June 16, 2009 8:05:45 AM.

I think I was the very last of that days run, so those people who put in theirs at the end of May are likely ahead of me, but that's how the cookie crumbles. I assume I'll get in when I'm supposed to get in. I figure that 345 people are ahead of me just on that date alone. That's almost a whole semester of nursing students at all the Maricopa colleges alone!!!

I have not been placed yet. My choices are currently SCC trad., MCC trad., CGCC trad, GCC weekend and Gateway accel. --not exactly in that order.

I saw someone say they're likely up to 2/09 applications, but who really knows, right? I'm keeping my fingers crossed extremely hard for this fall but I'm overly optimistic I think. I hate to admit it, but I am alittle happy when people decide to defer their enrollment, although I realize the person who has to do it likely has to do it likely under unfortunate circumstances. I know how hard they've worked and how long they've waited, and can really appreciate their situation.
