It's a game played with a bat a ball and 2, 11 sided teams. Surely you've heard of it. The first match between two international team involved America and Canada. :)

I don´t know much about cricket as it is not played in my country, if it was i´m sure I would enjoy.
Ashes is a competition England-Australia, right?
oooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh! I know what it is now. Thank you kindly for clarifying. I thought it was kinda like a grasshoper at first. :imbar :imbar :imbar
Well, yeah, I know what the game is, but, the original thread was entitled: The Ashes followed by a comment about cricket without a reference to a game.
So sorry..........my hands are full with pro baseball and up and coming pro football.

Sorry about the confusion. The ashes refers to the trophy the two teams play for. IT's an urn containing the ashes of the bailles used in a test match played between the two teams.
Thanks. Now I get it. I will pay attention to the matches. How do the scores/games stand now?
The score now is one test each, with three tests to play. The matches are being broadcast on the bbc website I think. It will be worthy listening to :)

Looks like being 2 to 1 after this test. The Australian team is getting old and England has some good young hopefuls.
But how can you call it an English team with so many ring-ins. South Africans, Welsh :) . And the flat tracks prepared for the tests almost backfired on England at Egbaston.
Good luck to both teams, Australia have too much talent and experience to let the Ashes go.
Err...
