I got my approval today from worksource...they are going to pay my tuition and my boards after school!! I know it's been talked about on the boards before but don't miss out on this assistance...give them a call...
After I called they sent me a packet for some basic info...I filled it out made an appointment and then 1 week later (today) I got an email assigning me my case manager and was told my tuition is paid for!!
I'm so happy right now and I really wanted to share!

Could you elaborate on what worksource is and how you got the help. I'm desperately looking for financial aide.

Yes please, I would like to know more about this too. Do they have a website?

I got my call today too!! I was sooo excited!!! I have Bright Futures but they are going to pay for my books and boards and summer tuition....So I am way excited about not having to take out a loan....
Worksource is program designed to help people get and keep jobs. They offer tuition help for high demand jobs, such as nursing. You have to be accepted into a program before they help you though. And it helps if you have a kid and are single or a low income family.

Thanks so much for the info!!:redpinkhe
...and for those of us who don't have kids and aren't really "low income"
**like me**
there is hope for you too because my tuition is paid.
Awesome, you are awesome. Thanks so much. One last question....is this only for north FL? I'm in Volusia county (Daytona Beach, area) any hope for me??:selfbonk:
Yes, it is for all over Florida. They should be in your phone book.
Thank you so much for the info. I am in a dilema because nursing is my second career. I already have a bachelors degree so I can't get government aide. Problem is I can't work while I'm in nursing school, so how does my bachelors degree help me? Anyway, thanks for giving me another option to look at.

WOW, that would of been so helpful for me! I had no idea about that. I had to work so hard as a CNA and before that at a supermarket, saved my money and went to school.
I had loans and financial aid.
you are very lucky you found that out.

Belated CONGRATULATIONS! I was wondering if you have any new info to share regarding the WS program? How has it worked for you? What, if any, loans/grants, did you receive? Did you complete the program? Were you able to secure employment thru WS referrals?
Forgive me if I am being intrusive. I am considering taking this route but I am concerned on how I will be able to pay for all my other household expenses and raise 2 boys in the process. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I know this thread is over two years ago but misswhitney I need to ask you a question about Worksource. I was accepted for Fall 2011 but had to decline because I don't have the money. How did you go about Worksource and where did you apply? What about the Worksource on the north campus? Is this a different one too? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
