Thank you...

This is a post that I have started previously, but I think it is time to revive it.

1.) To the pt who told me that she was so happy she came to our hospital, because we take great care of her. It is pts like you that make us come back to work when I would rather do anything but.

2.) To the techs that worked last night, you 3 are awesome. You really go above and beyond for our pts. All of you have the attitude that ALL of the pts are ALL of our responsibility. You show great pride in the work you do!

3.) To the man who came in with ummmm.... lets call it ETOH intoxication, you probably won't remember, but I will. He said "You are the nicest person I have ever met."

4.) To my sweet man who has had multiple surgeries, when you told me that we are always so happy, and you never see us in a bad mood... you brightened my mood! If you had only known the mood I was REALLY in, you would have know I was in a FOUL mood.

5.) To my sweet daughter who called me at 2300 and requested I bring her breakfast on my way home. (Thanks for wanting pancakes from McDonalds and not Craker Barrel.)

6.) To my hubby who more often than not will bring me dinner if I really don't want to eat in the "crap-ateria"

that is all for now, but I am sure I will have more to add later. Please add yours :yeah:

1. to the patient who told me "You're the best dam* nurse i've ever had and i really fu**ing mean it too" (he liked to swear, oddly it was always in a nice way he swore)

2. The the doctor who needed me but saw i was super busy and called me "Super nurse of the day"

3. To the daughter of my patient who got very angry at me with the decline in her father (one of my favorite patients ever), and the fact she hugged me, and cried on my shoulder when she realized there was nothing more that we could do for her father.

4. To the patient who told me "you need a haircut" (i have long hair since i donate my hair frequently) and actually found me a haircut online she requested to be printed. She has been with us for a LONG time, so i'm getting it cut on thursday for her in the style she found. :yeah:

To my supervisor who said I give a very thorough, complete report. This meant so much to me. When I was a new nurse, giving report was difficult for me. I worked hard to improve. This comment meant alot to me.

To my coworker who said I was a bit goofy but fun to work with. Thank you. I love you all.

I started this in 2011, but here we go again...

1. Daughter in law that stayed with your confused MIL. I'm not sure we'd have kept her safe without you.

2. Co-workers that can make you laugh in the middle of a crappy shift.

3. To the day-shift nurse, thanks for being early and ready to receive report on time.

4. Even though you are assigned to clerk. You still busted your tail helping the other techs.

5. To the nurse on another unit, thanks for telling your coworker to call me, because I can find anything it the charting software.

6. House supervisor, thanks for holding on to the combative pt so I could give her haldol IM without her knocking me out.
