Texas BON

How would the Texas BON find out about a dwi or an arrest for any reason...if you don't report it. do they do background checks everytime you renew?

My friend got arrested for dwi, but hasn't been convicted. by the looks of the application you only have to report after you ve been convicted.

If they are convicted your friend will have to report it when their license is renewed. I waited until the day after court to self report.

I do not know what BONs do about background checks come renewal time.

I do know that most if not all BONs require nurses to self-report convictions, usually within a certain time period (10-30 days or so) after the conviction. If they fail to do so, they risk disciplinary action on their license.

Your friend may be able to legally check "No" now, but should he/she get convicted, they'll need to fess up.
