Temporal Thermometer Question

Hi Everyone,

Just joined allnurses although I have always searched for answers here. I am about to start working as a home health nurse and I was wondering what temporal thermometer would you recommend? At the moment I am between the ADC 427 Temple Touch Thermometer and the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer. The reviews on amazon vary, any recommendations are appreciated. Thank You!!

You have to provide your own thermometer?

I use the cheapo digital oral thermometer that the agency provides. I leave it in the home if the patient should be checking their own temperature.

$1 digital thermometer from dollar tree for back up axillary temp otherwise what agency supplies. Temporal like tympanic have a high margin of error due to technique

I would not buy one. I like them but mine usually registers 99. Something. Yesterday, it registered over 102. The patient was afebrile.
