Hi,
Does anyone know a place around here where you can get telemetry certified. A lot of jobs that I have been applying to require it, but when I look I can't seem to find a place to acquire it. I know a lot of hospitals certify their employees, but I need a certification outside of that. I also wanted to get my critical care certification if anyone knew the right place to go through for that.
Thanks everyone !!

Also, you cannot get your critical care cert until you've met certain criteria for it....

Hi Marina,
I was not able to find any good certification courses. What I heard from most of the nurses working on telemetry floors is that the hospital sends you to a course there to be certified. They suggest having your ACLS and PALS if applying to telemetry floors. Hope this helps.

Harrington hospital in Southbridge offers a tele course every once in a while. Call their con ed department.
I am new to allnurses and I really appreciate your quick response, after researching the criteria for taking and passing the ACLS (basic interpretation of 4-5 different EKG strips) I have decided to take a EKG class either on-line or in person. Then I will take the ACLS, I want some kind of edge in the Boston Nurse Job Market, at least having the ACLS may help, anything is worth a try, but I really do feel Telemetry Certification is a necessity in today's job market. Seems every job out there requires it. I found a National Telemetry Association they say they are credentialed, but I am not convinced. I do not trust many of these sites.
I thought Boston would be full of places being both the hospital and education center of the US !
Thank you for your advice I will call in the morning. So glad i found this site!
