Teas test question

Published

I have been out of school for over 10 years. I do not remember any of the science or a&p for the Teas. I am very confident with the other sections. I am so worried about science portion. My question is has anyone else been in my situation and studied just the Teas study manual and taken the practice exams and scored well on the exam? I only have 3 months to study this and I am terrified. Thank you in advance.

The study manual helped SO MUCH!!!

I bought the ATI package deal.. 1 manual + 2 online practice tests.

I took the practice test and did horrible. After studying the manual, it raised my score by 25 points!!!!

I took the teas last week, the study manual was ditto. The questions were set up identically to the way the study guide teaches you but the wording/chemicals were different.

Almost like x + y = z, but the real test said a + b = c, you get it?

study study study!!!!!!

Thank you so much. I feel a little better now. I am just ready to get this test over with.

WHOA...you mean there's actually a study manual for this? I didn't realize...I had heard about a "TEAS" test, but thought it was just something my school cooked up to charge me more money. I'll be darned! What's the name of the book and where can I get a copy? My test won't be for a little while, but I may as well start studying for it sooner rather than later.

THANKS!!!

The test is through Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC (ATI). You can go to their website at the following address:

http://www.atitesting.com/global/students/student-roadmap.aspx

They have review material, online practice tests, etc. Granted, there is a fee associated with the review book. There are other review/study guides on the internet as well. Simply GOOGLE (or the search engine of your choice) the phrase "TEAS Study Guide" or "TEAS Test". You will get plenty of info.

Hope this helps! Good luck on your exam!

I have yet to find anything to deal with nursing education that there isn't some kind of fee for! :chuckle But I know it'll be worth it.

I should know better than to stay away from this website for too long! I've had the TEAS test book sitting around my house for months, and now I have to finally take the actual test...in 9 days to be exact. I have barely studied.

It's my fault, I am going to do horrible. I should have been studying the whole time. I am not worried about the English or Reading, it's just the math and some of the science I will have trouble with. I took one of the online practice tests yesterday and only received a 65%!! That's not passing!

Let this be a lesson to those who procrastinte! (me included ).

I think I gave up because I have been trying to get into nursing school for 2 years now. My pre-reqs are all finished. I am on 3 schools' waiting lists. (2 way down there; one, I may get in Fall of 2009). I will be reapplying to American River and Sacramento City in the next few weeks. If I get higher than a 67% on the dreaded TEAS, then I can also reapply to Sierra (for the 5th time) as well.

Wish me luck!

Just a heads up.....don't spend money on the study guide. It's like 50 bucks and you're only going to use it one time for this test. I got mine at the local library and held onto it for a couple weeks, then gave it back when I was done. You can get free practice TEAS questions online at testpreview.com

Thanks for the info, but I already gone out and found a copy online. I tried to bid for one on ebay, but someone else outbid me in the last 20 seconds. :banghead: So I went out searching elsewhere and found a used copy on another website for just $10. I thought that was waaay reasonable, since I won't be taking my test for about 6 months, so I could hang on to it and study it at my leisure, without keeping the library copy away from other students. And when I'm done with it, I'll apparently have no problems finding someone else who wants it, as there were 3 copies of it on Ebay and every single one of them went for $30 or more.

I just think it's hilarious that someone else put in a bid that high to take it from me, and then I ended getting it for $20 bucks less. :p

By the way, many thanks for the website info, I'll use that too. I absolutely need every advantage so I can make sure I get into clinicals without having to wait. Much appreciated from all of us that still have it in front of us.

i keep hearing about a book you can get a library...indymom4, what is the book called that you got and did you get it at the public library or college library?thanks...taking test in about a month and ready to review.

It is the same ATI study guide that you can buy for like 50 bucks. You can check it out at the public library. I was able to keep mine for like a month, but if you need it longer, you can always renew it.
