Moved to the Nurse Registration forumYes you have to start afresh if going to a new state. The good is that if you sent through CGFNS they should be able to re-use documents
Interesting. I never thought about that loophole for International Educated students taking NCLEX in USA, basically they will have a lifetime to pass it. 50 states plus numerous territories to apply to.
I learned something new today.......

Not true. If you took the test 3x and failed in IL you can't reapply in NJ or FL without taking a refresher course. NY & CA have unlimited attempts as long as you keep paying the Pearson Vue $200 and the BoN reapplication fees.

Hello people, need your help on this.
I am planning to retake NCLEX but I don't know how to start. I graduated in the Philippines and took NCLEX in Chicago and failed. The 3 year limit has come and I am now unable to take NCLEX in Illinois unless I finish 2 years refresher course.
I've heard and read that I can take NCLEX on other states but it is not clear. Please forgive me if I asked stupid or silly questions because i'm confused and maybe the anxiety of thinking I could take NCLEX again.
If I should apply in other US state, do I start over on as a foreign graduate and am I going to reapply again in for new CGFNS stuff or the CGFNS I had in Illinois would be enough?
or better, can anyone help me have a detailed instructions on how I should start again? I would be very thankful for your help.
